Host Faith Chatham presents special guest Texas Radio Hall of Fame broadcaster Tony Bridge, Jr. and newspaper woman, author, civil rights activist and former radio station news director Gail K. Beil. We'll look back over the past 60 years of media and compare it with today. Mr. Tony Bridge, Jr. acquired ownership of an AM/FM station in the East Texas market in the 1950s. Faith and Gail met in the early 1970s while employed at a Harte Hanks Communication daily newspaper in that same market. Together Gail and Faith have worked for at least 5 national newspaper chains. Tony experiences extends far beyond his local station. Faith has owned and operated creative shops, independent "full-serviice" advertising agencies and marketing companies, and served as media consultant for DFW based Fortune 500 Companies. At one time Gail was the News Director at a Radio Station in Marshall, Texas in competition with Tony Bridge's station. Gail has done advance work for Bill Moyers, covered environmental, political, education and historical beats. She is best known as the biographer of James Farmer, Jr. and was recently awarded the Denzel Washington Team Support Award for her service to the Wiley Great Debaters. This will be a live show. When these three old friends get together, the conversation is usually brisk, informative, unpredictable, and humorous!

Simone McKelvey is sharing with us today about how we can look at deceasing debt from a parctical point of view. If you have ever felt trapped in your debt or unable to realize dreams because of being stretched too thin financially, you know that this verse is true. We will look at some practical ways to manage your finances so that you can start breaking the chain, one link at a time. Take a look at Proverbs 22:7, King James Version: The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
Star Trek: Captain Pike will be produced by Rigel 7 Productions and directed by Jeff Trek's special guest Director Todd Shawn Tei.
If you saw the original series Star Trek pilot “The Cage”, then you remember Captain Pike discussing his previous mission with the ship’s doctor and seeing many flashbacks throughout the episode. At the beginning of The Cage, set in 2254, Pike and his crew are recuperating from a mission to Rigel VII during which several members of the landing party were killed by inhabitants. The incident filled Pike with so much guilt that he is actually considered resigning his commission. In “Encounter at Rigel” you will see this story for the first very time. The original series never showed us what really happened, only quick flashbacks, but never the whole story. Now, finally, after all these years, Director Todd Shawn Tei brings us this entire epic story and you get an extremely special preview right here on Jeff Trek. Get your com-lock and beam on board. \\//,

Nico Rosberg won the Grand Prix in Monaco with the help of a strategic blunder.
Starting on pole was pivotal for Lewis Hamilton, who was almost certain to win the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Monaco. Hamilton maintained the lead throughout the race and had a 19 second lead over teammate Nico Rosberg. No one could have overtaken him on that particular track, and no one could have taken the race from him until, lap 65, when the youngest driver in Formula 1 Max Verstappen ran head on into the barriers while trying to overtake, Romain Grojean.
A virtual safety car (VSC) was in effect which would have maintained the status quo for the position of drivers, but suddenly, an actual safety car was deployed, and the Mercedes strategist called Hamilton in to pit for a tire change. The move was shocking to fans and the media since Hamilton’s tires were holding up just fine, and he had only 14 laps to go. Mercedes called Hamilton in while Vettel who was in third, and Rosberg in second, stayed out and advanced their positions. By the time Hamilton rejoined the group, he was in third, Vettel was ahead of him in second and Rosberg ahead of Vettel in first. Although Hamilton is still leading the drivers, championship, this was a painful loss. Every other word heard around the F1 universe has been “robbed, Hamilton was robbed.” Fans believe Hamilton is rightfully upset that such a blunder by his strategist could cost him so much. He has consistently praised and thanked his team, even when they mess up his pit stops but by all accounts, this was a bridge too far. Now, fans are asking, “Can Lewis trust the people he depends on?” Coming in fourth and fifth were the Red Bulls, Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo. Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen held onto sixth and an impressive drive by Force India’s Sergio Perez, and McLaren driver Jenson Button, put them in seventh and eighth, respectively.
