"Another Fork in the Road" Jeannette Davidson-Mayer, Caregiver - Military Spouse

    in Education

When Jeannette Davidson-Mayer’s husband, DeWayne, had five brain injuries - the result of his active duty in Iraq - Jeannette became his caregiver. To combat this 24-hour job, Jeannette redesigned her kitchen to become the family’s “Central Command Post."  Jeannette will discuss how she, DeWayne, and their daughter make this system work for them.

Every TBI survivor and caregiver has encountered a fork in the road that has diverted his or her life-plan. A car accident, a fall from the roof, doing one more chin-up, an IED blast, or a door literally slamming one in the face are just some causes of traumatic brain injury. College, walking down the aisle in the perfect dress, or the coveted job quickly slips from reality as dreams turn to struggle. These unexpected life-happenings that divert one from his or her chosen path in life can be devastating.

But as Yogi Berra once said, “If you come to a fork in the road, take it.” Life is all about choices!

Financial Non-Conformist/Revolutionist Mayer Dahan on Revenue Chat w/Tony DUrso

    in Business

Revenue Chat with Tony DUrso, welcomes Mayer Dahan, CEO of Prime Five Homes who is a financial non-conformist and revolutionist. He says, "Money should be invested in a cause, rather than the person who made it.”

A self-proclaimed creative conformist and home development revolutionist, Mayer was able to build and sell more homes than ever before, despite the housing collapse in the late 2000s.

His homes are not only beautiful, which you can see on some of our slides, but they are also a way to raise public awareness about energy efficiency, the use of solar power, and the importance of quality materials.

In 2013 Mayer created The Dream Builders Project, a charity with the goal of giving back to the community. He hosts Charity Flash Mobs, formal galas and other philanthropic functions throughout the year, for the purposes of raising awareness for many causes such as child abuse, the homeless, and those with chronic illnesses and diseases among others.

Mayer shares his winning non-conformist approach, right here on Revenue Chat with Tony DUrso.

    in Motivation

If you want to begin the healing process, you have to show up.
That’s what Laura Mayer does. After fighting a debilitating, disfiguring disease for more than 40 years, she took her illness in her own hands and opened up a whole new world of possibilities. Weird Scenes 4/13/16: Full Moon Rising: Dave DeCoteau, Charles Band and more

    in Entertainment

Kicking off his career as a lowly production assistant under Roger Corman, Dave DeCoteau went on to helm dozens of films for Full Moon and its offshoot Torchlight Pictures throughout the 1980's and 1990's before establishing his own homoerotically oriented Rapid Heart Pictures.

Charles Band continued his father's theatrical tradition, enlisting his brother for soundtrack composition and establishing first his own Charles Band Productions, then the even more successful Empire Pictures and finally the label he's best known for, Full Moon!

With a history of highly entertaining films produced on a low budget but with aesthetic values and quirky concepts that belie their financial origins, Band produced and directed over a hundred films between his late 70's debut and the early millenium, and remains active in more of a niche, rather un-Full Moonlike market to this day.

Join us as we talk the rise and fall of Charles Band, Empire and Full Moon, plus his most consistent (and consistently entertaining) contributor, Dave DeCoteau!
