We at Queensberry Rules Radio were torn over what to name this episode. On one hand, nobody really wanted this Broner/Matthyse co-feature card. On the other, all of two dozen people listen to our podcast, and we have to draw in listeners somehow. What better way then to highlight a total numbskull in a mismatch? This week on the show, Bad Left Hook's James Foley and Patrick Connor of Queensberry Rules try to find a way to minimize time spent discussing sub-par boxing cards and work the flyweight mayhem into the discussion. While Adrien Broner and Lucas Matthysse are featured on Showtime, Juan Francisco Estrada faces feared puncher Giovani Segura on beIN, and Akira Yaegashi vs Roman Gonzalez on a local Japanese channel. Also on the schedule, Kiko Martinez takes on Carl Frampton in a rematch. Thanks for tuning in!

Idea was thrown around on a very late night call, and I thought it would be great to throw together some VERY memorable clips from this past year's podcasting, which is now history. I hope you listen in and enjoy this as much as we enjoyed making them. Many, many, many clips so if they're not completely perfect and cut off at just the right times, I apologize, but I try to get it all as best as I can.
JC McCoy, Rob Lucas, Barrett Cohen, Mike Nie and guests bring you the first meeting between these teams in 10 years. Part 1 includes pregame and the first half. The excitement was palpable at Miami University's Yager Stadium and the game did not disappoint. Originally aired on ClassX Radio.
Listen, for a guy who didn't pick up the saxophone until he was 28, Dee Lucas is catching UP! WHOA! Dee is now an internationally known artist with a now fifth album under his belt. We're so looking forward to his visit because this is his second go-round on "Hybrid Jazz" - and there seems to be so much that has changed - all positive.
And DATES - this man has a slew of live events coming up - each one will be discussed. One of those brings him to our region. In the shadow of Washington, D.C. There is no doubt that Dee will have a sold-out crowd at Firestation 1 in Silver Spring, Maryland - that's September 20th. But he also has big shows happening in his home base, Georgia, and in Los Angeles, too.
If you've been keeping up with the career of Dee Lucas, then you're already impressed. 2004 marked his debut with "Remembrance" - a tribute to one of his musical inspirations, George Howard. In 2007, we heard "Something To Ride 2" - followed by "Standing Room Only" in 2010. The next year, it was "Rebirth of the Smooth." That's when Dee first stopped by - and we had a blast!
Earlier this year, "The Smooth Factor" was released - and audiences from all over the globe are, once again, smitten. When we hear three tracks from the CD you'll hear why :) You don't get to work with Hugh Masekela, Ronnie Laws, Nneena Freelon and Michael Franks unless you're something SPECIAL. Dee has consistently shown us how much.
Matter-of-fact, our mutual friend, Jonathan Widran, said it best at Dee's website. Jonathan calls what Dee does "soulful mastery." We, his fans, couldn't agree more!
Please join us for a musical reunion - when Dee Lucas joins us on 8/26 at two p.m. Eastern.

In the "At least we got Keith" edition, Chris and Jeffrey are losing their enthusiasm for the 2014 Mets, although Jeffrey manages to keep the second division soccer talk to a mimimum this week. We do talk a bit about the whys and why nots of a potential Bartolo Colon trade, and sing the praises of Lucas Duda, before we answer your e-mails on Steven Matz, Akeel Morris, the (sigh) Rule 5 draft, and why David Wright isn't on the DL already. And then Chris wraps things up with a plug for Rob Castellano's twitter feed for some reason.

It was April of 2008, and the LoCash Cowboys were doing what they do best--rocking a packed house. They were at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon, where the two of them--Preston Brust and Chris Lucas--had met a few years earlier. The amped-up crowd was living, screaming proof that they had put the time since then to good use. They had been criss-crossing the country, honing their craft on stages large and small, developing one of the most dynamic live shows in any genre of music. Along the way, they had sold more than 60,000 copies of their homemade CD, earned endorsements from the likes of Budweiser, shared bills with artists including Charlie Daniels and ZZ Top, performed at halftime of NBA and U.S. Olympic team basketball games, and earned television appearances ranging from Tanya Tucker's reality show "Tuckerville" to "Pageant School: Becoming Miss America," writing the theme songs for both.
Jim Beaver and the Down & Dirty Radio Show are bringing you the world's fastest female rally driver Emma Gilmour, PR/Marketing director for Crandon International Raceway Marty Fiolka, and Red Bull GRC's Chris Leone.
