L.Kimberly Smith & Gary Bondurant welcome you to Life With A Twist, the variety show that helps you turn your everyday life into an extraordinary experience! We are thrilled to welcome singer songwriter Mathew Sydney. Mathew Sydney is a prolific songwriter whose original music is distinctive for its classic sound and irresistible hooks. Broadly defined as “indie rock,” Sydney’s music draws on elements of country, folk and soul. Contemporary influences range from The White Stripes and Neko Case but his music is firmly rooted in the classic rock tradition of Neil Young, Lou Reed and Fleetwood Mac. I am more than excited to be in conversation with this awesome human being! http://www.mathewsydney.com/ Please follow Mathew on Twitter @MathewSydney and friend him on Facebook! He is a delight to those of us who have had the pleasure of meeting him!
Mathew Sydney, singer-songwriter and fellow blogtalkradio host comes to Stonewall Live! Thursday, May 17th 9PM EST.
A consummate entertainer, Mathew Sydney has been a composer, actor and visual artist since an early age. His influences include classic rock giants such as Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles and The Beach Boys; pop sensations such as Pink, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Maroon5 and alternative artists such as R.E.M, The B-52's, Neko Case and The New ographers.
Sydney began performing at open mics in 2005 and by 2009 he was headlining his own shows at coffeehouses and clubs. Not one to simply strum away on his guitar, Sydney engages his audience through storytelling, conversation and the occasional use of props and costumes. There is a story behind every song: sometimes funny, sometimes serious but always uplifting.
A dedicated supporter of his fellow independent artists, Sydney also hosts a weekly internet radio show on Indie Florida where he features music by and interviews other artists. His live performances are also structured in a variety show format, creating a showcase for audiences to experience other talented artists as well as Sydney's original music.
Sydney's latest studio project 'The Game' highlights his versatility as a composer with songs that feature elements of rock, jazz, folk, dance and psychedelia. In an age when an independent artist needs to be an expert in marketing, business and theater, Mathew Sydney is the complete package.
Mathew Sydney chats with jazz/pop singer, Sandy Stewart about her latest album, 'Something to Remember.' Ms Stewart began her career in the 1950s as a frequent guest on the Perry Como show and other variety programs. Her new album is a collaboration with her son, Bill Charlap, a world-reknowned jazz pianist. Be sure to tune in and experience the magic that happens when these two outstanding artists bring classic American standards (such as "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" and "When You Wish Upon a Star") to life!
With the passage of a new Religious Freedom Restoration Act in Indiana, it is now legal for businesses to discriminate against someone on the basis of sexual orientation. Since the announcement of the passing of the bill, many activsits have had differing views on how to address the issue. In this episode, we will go over the events in Indiana in the past few days, and speak to Indiana natives about how the community can best come together and help our LGBT brothers and sisters who live in Indiana.
19 States have 'religious freedom' laws like Indiana however Indiana is the only one being boycotted. Click here to see a map of the states where these laws are in place currently.

Seventy-five years after Joseph Stalin's reign of terror across Eastern Europe, entertainment journalist Greg Archer takes a step back from Hollywood and examines his Polish family's mind-bending odyssey of the 1940s. In the process, he exposes one of the most under-reported events of the 20th Century: Stalin's mass deportation of nearly two million Polish citizens to the Siberian gulags and the life-shattering events that followed. The book, Grace Revealed, takes you on that journey.
But the author's quest takes a dramatic turn. As he walks an emotional tightrope between the past and the present, can a serendipitous global adventure become a saving grace, heal the ancestral soul and bring justice to his family and their forgotten Polish comrades?
Greg Archer is an award-winning journalist, editor, cultural moderator and author. His journalism and man-on-the-street coverage of agents of change, arts, culture, travel and the entertainment industry appear regularly in The Huffington Post, San Francisco Examiner, Jetset Extra and on his popular YouTube portal. He has been a contributor to Oprah Magazine, The Advocate, VIA Magazine, Palm Springs Life, Bust, Prevention, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Monterey Herald and other publications.
