The Collapse of Materialism: Philip Comella

    in Spirituality

Do Darwin and materialist science have the only answers for humanity? Or does human consciousness demand a much more expansive vision? Lawyer and visionary futurist Philip Comella is the author of the new book The Collapse of Materialism: Visions of Science, Dreams of God, in which he explores the dramatic spiritual awakening taking place on the planet right now. Philip invites us to transcend the "truths" of the past to discover a higher truth, a glorious new epoch in which science and religion are no longer at odds with one another.

Many have suggested we live in a materialistic universe that is random and unconscious, evolving only through the constructs of natural selection. An alternative view has co-existed, one that describes the universe as a conscious creation existing beyond the limitations of matter, indeed creating matter itself.  The seemingly endless collisions between these two competing world views need not hinder humanity forever. We will explore Philip's groundbreaking predictions on how a unified vision of reality is not only possible, but already in existence.

In addition to his professional life as a lawyer, visionary wayshower Philip Comella is the host of the popular radio show Conversations Beyond Science and Religion. Philip's book is the culmination of decades of work studying how the physical world of science can be unified with the metaphysics of religion.

  • The Druth about... Materialism

    in Politics

This week's episode of "The Druth About..." explores the idea that consumerism and materialism are destroying Liberty in America.  Dru and Loki discuss how the American pathological need to acquire "things" has become more important to them than guarding their Liberties.

With this being a Christmas episode, this topic is especially poignant.  This is the day we celbrate rampant consumerism.  But, the day is supposed to be about celebrating the birth and teachings of one of history's most influencial people.

Where did America go wrong?  What, if anything, can be done to remedy this problem?

Have you ever sat down and really thought about how much you value your possessions? Do you value your belongings more than you value friends, family, love, or yourself?

Materialism has been defined as the theory that physical well-being and worldly possessions constitute the greatest good & highest value in life.(Heritage Dictionary,3rd ed) This means that we look to possessions to bring us happiness. We then use these possessions to make things and people behave or respond the way we desire. We have become so successful at fabricating and manipulating the world that we have come to believe that altering our surroundings is the way to solve all of our problems. Materialism now carries the status that people’s religion, occupations, and bloodlines used to carry . We identify ourselves and others by what we wear, what we have, and what brands we sport.

Do you feed into the materialist hype, is there a particular product you cannot live without, or do you define yourself by you possessions? Call in and tell us your take on this issue on BKS1 Radio. 646-929-1530

The Collapse of Materialism - Visions of Science - Dreams of God

    in Spirituality

Philip Comella believes that civilization may be at the beginning of a new epoch, a time of great spiritual awakening with humanity transcending to a higher truth, one that unifies the now colliding cultures of science and religion. In his book The Collapse of Materialism, Comella explains that through this viewpoint will come the ultimate understanding of the interconnection between our minds and the world around us.

Many scientists now believe that it has been shown that matter originates in the mind and the mind is universal. Philip Comella explains that embracing the universal mind will lead us back to ourselves and finally back to God.

Philip Comella is a lawyer, visionary futurist, and host of the popular radio show Conversations Beyond Science and Religion, podcast at www.webtalkradio.net. His book, The Collapse of Materialism: Visions of Science, Dreams of God, is a culmination of decades of work committed to developing a new and credible scientific paradigm to unify the physical world of science with the metaphysics of religion. He lives with his wife and daughter in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

The Audible Bible From Habakkuk -Haggai, God, Faith, The Remnant and Materialism

    in Social Networking

The Book of Habakkuk presents God and Faith. It teaches us that faith forces us to define our present relationship with the Almighty God; it invites us to step into the future leaving the past behind and trust God even in the imminent reaction of the forces of evil. In addition, we will learn in Habakkuk that faith sees God is always working around us; while the natural eyes only see the enemies, the trials, the persecution and hardness of life. When all answers seem unacceptable, you are praying for something, but what you get is not the result that you expected? Keep your faith in God, He will manifest His power on your behalf.

Zephaniah presents, God and the remnant. It teachings indicate that remnant calls us to distinguish between church membership and salvation, in other word, salvation is more important than being a church member. The remnant also teaches us that we must accept God’s discipline in order to be included in it. It affirms our love relationship with God as the only hope and the reliance to avoid His final judgment.

On the other hand, Haggai presents God and Man’s Material Resources and teaching us that materialism invites us to let go God, admit defeat and give up on life. The purpose of materialism is to ignore God’s ethical standards, so we can satisfy our self-centered personal desires and rely solely on material wealth. The wise and prudent individual understands that material wealth comes from God because it is He who gives the power to gain and accumulate wealth, because God is the source of all good things. Listen to hear what the word of God saying in these books.
