Philip Comella practicing attorney, radio show host and author of The Collapse of Materialism: Visions of Science, Dreams if God for Bringing Heaven to Earth.
Philip Comella believes that civilization may be at the beginning of a new epoch, a time of great spiritual awakening with humanity transcending to a higher truth, one that unifies the now colliding cultures of science and religion. In his book The Collapse of Materialism, Comella explains that through this viewpoint will come the ultimate understanding of the interconnection between our minds and the world around us.
Many scientists now believe that it has been shown that matter originates in the mind and the mind is universal. Philip Comella explains that embracing the universal mind will lead us back to ourselves and finally back to God.

Have you ever sat down and really thought about how much you value your possessions? Do you value your belongings more than you value friends, family, love, or yourself?
Materialism has been defined as the theory that physical well-being and worldly possessions constitute the greatest good & highest value in life.(Heritage Dictionary,3rd ed) This means that we look to possessions to bring us happiness. We then use these possessions to make things and people behave or respond the way we desire. We have become so successful at fabricating and manipulating the world that we have come to believe that altering our surroundings is the way to solve all of our problems. Materialism now carries the status that people’s religion, occupations, and bloodlines used to carry . We identify ourselves and others by what we wear, what we have, and what brands we sport.
Do you feed into the materialist hype, is there a particular product you cannot live without, or do you define yourself by you possessions? Call in and tell us your take on this issue on BKS1 Radio. 646-929-1530

MATERIALISM (Acquisitiveness, Possessiveness, Worldliness)
What are the dangers of materialism?
BIBLE READING: Genesis 14:1-24
KEY BIBLE VERSE: They also carried off Abram’s nephew Lot and his possessions, since he was living in Sodom. (Genesis 14:12, niv)
Materialism can make us slaves to things. Lot’s greedy desire for the best of everything led him into sinful surroundings. His burning desire for possessions and success cost him his freedom and enjoyment. As a captive to Kedorlaomer, he faced torture, captivity, or death. Lot’s materialism had taken him from one form of slavery to another. In much the same way, we can be enticed into doing things or going places we shouldn’t. The prosperity we long for is captivating; it can both entice us and enslave us if our motives are not in line with God’s desires.
In this episode, we are going to explain dialectical materialism, a philosophical theory about how change occurs in nature and the world. We will to break down the theories of dialectical materialism in basic and common langue, and eplain how this philosophical world view can help you understand why things happen the way they do.
This is part 2 of our discussion and explanation for the theories of dialectical materialism, a method for interpreting the world and how to change it. This is a 60 minute discussion, and we invite you to call in with your feedback at 347-857-1319

His latest book, The Collapse of Materialism: Visions of Science, Dreams of God, wonders if human consciousness can be explained by Darwin and materialist science, if the universe was created completely by chance, and proposes a profound shift of the way we look t the exchange of beliefs of science and religion.
