  • Happy Hour With The Crew: How do we really feel about the $20 bill

    in Radio

Tubman, an African-American and a Union spy (or was she ) during the Civil War, would bump Jackson — a white man known as much for his persecution of Native Americans as for his war heroics and advocacy for the common man — to the back of the $20, in some reduced image along with the White House. Tubman would be the first woman so honored on paper currency since Martha Washington’s portrait briefly graced the $1 silver certificate in the late 19th century. While Hamilton would remain on the $10, and Abraham Lincoln on the $5, images of women would be added to the back of both — in keeping with Mr. Lew’s intent “to bring to life” the national monuments depicted there. The picture of the Treasury building on the back of the $10 bill would be replaced with a depiction of a 1913 march in support of women’s right to vote that ended at the building, along with portraits of five suffrage leaders: Lucretia Mott, Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Alice Paul and Susan B. Anthony, who in more recent years was on an unpopular $1 coin until minting ceased. How do we really feel about it?

    Audio Bible John 1-10

    in Christianity

The book of John is a Gospel that contains Narrative History, Sermons, Parables, and a few Prophetic Oracles. It was written by the Disciple/Apostle John around 85-95 A.D. The key personalities of this book are Jesus Christ, His Twelve Disciples, Mary Magdalene, John the Baptist, Lazarus, his sisters Mary and Martha, Jewish religious leaders, and Pilate.

It was written so that all may believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God who gives eternal life. John’s gospel uses the word “Believe” 98 times and the word “Life” 36 times, in an effort to embed the importance that one must believe in order to live eternally. John is not one of the three synoptic (common view) gospels, but instead was written with a more theological substance, yet equally as inspired and important as the first three gospels.

    •    Chapter 1 is the preamble of the Messiah’s coming ministry. John gives clear evidence that Jesus is more than just a man, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (1:1). John then describes that the “Word” is Jesus who became a man to “live among us” (1:14). The beginning verses in the first chapter teaches us that Jesus is more than just a man who came into existence but rather, He is infinite God.

  • Killing Me Softly with His Roar Part Two: Why Do Doves Cry?

    in The Bible

Women are known to say things like, "You make me sick" and "You are getting on my last nerves" The truth is she may be right, and the cause is from a medical diagnosis called, the Hurried Woman's Syndrome.  Last week Dr. Robinson - Humphrey explained why this sickness is at epidemic levels among women and on the rise among men.  It's the reason that we are fat, angry, and just don't want to be bothered.

Thsi week we will explore characteristics of some Bible women, like Martha, who also suffered from this disease and how she tried to bring Mary along with her.

Hopefully, we will learn to use Dr. Humphrey's IRIS technique and put an end to those crying doves!

Clutter Begone Once and For All w/ Guest Becky Bacon

    in Health

Imagine if you could paste your home onto a flat one-dimensional board. Spread it all out like a map of the world. Look at all of it objectively, not just the pretty parts, but the closets, cupboards, and clutter too. Those storage areas represent our subconscious mind and often where our subconscious blocks hide.

How is your home not in alignment with what you want? What needs to go? What is stuffed, cramped, outdated? What would be a better representation? Inspirational artwork, curtains you love instead of tolerate, current books, functional rooms.

If your home was a vision board, does it represent the life you want? If not, it's time to remove some things and add some things around on your virtual vision board.

Join Tisha and special guest, Becky Bacon, as they help you get to the root of clutter. Becky is a Martha Beck traiined life coach and LEED accredited professional, a member of NAPO, and Reiki Master. For more information, go to www.BeckyBacon.com.
