Marriage and Family—The Institutions (Part 1)

    in Religion

Marriage has progressed through many variations, from loose and promiscuous matings, toward ever higher standards, culminating in the union of one man and one woman to establish a home of the highest social order.  The family, which grows out of marriage, is itself a stabilizer of the marriage institution; but the real influence which safeguards marriage and family is the fact that men and women positively will not live without each other.

Marriage and Family—The Origins (Part 3)

    in Religion

Primitive marriage was an investment, an economic speculation; it was more a matter of business than an affair of flirtation.  Woman started out as the property of her father, who transferred his title to her husband.  The chastity taboo had its origin as a phase of the property mores, and virgins later became valuable commercial assets to their fathers.

Marriage and Family—The Origins (Part 2)

    in Religion

In primitive times marriage was the price of social standing; the possession of a wife was a badge of distinction.  Marriage has always been closely linked with both property and religion.  Property has been the stabilizer of marriage; religion, the moralizer.  Those races which exalted and practiced marriage naturally evolved to higher levels and survived in increased numbers.

Marriage and Family—The Origins (Part 1)

    in Religion

Marriage has given mankind the home, and the home is the crowning glory of the whole long and arduous evolutionary struggle.  While religious, social, and educational institutions are all essential to the survival of cultural civilization, the family is the master civilizer.  Today the human races possess a rich social and cultural heritage, and it should be wisely and effectively passed on to succeeding generations.  The family as an educational institution must be maintained.

Marriage and Family—The Origins (Part 5)

    in Religion

There are no pure races in the world today.  The early and original evolutionary peoples of color have all become more or less intermixed.  Hybridization is the secret of the creation of new and more superior traits; race blending greatly contributes to the sudden appearance of new characteristics and fosters species improvement.

Marriage and Family—The Origins (Part 4)

    in Religion

Very early in social evolution, the mores tended to crystallize in restriction of sex relations among near relatives; outbreeding greatly increased the selective opportunity for evolutionary variation and advancement.  Many tribes eventually forbade marriages within the clan, but outmarriage finally dominated because it was a peace promoter and a nation builder.

The Master Piece Marriage- "A Family Affair"

    in Christianity

Over the course of time the family model has shifted.  Men and the role of the Father have been reduced and watered down because most of the time it appears that the role of a father and male presence in the home is not necessary and at times a bit much. This increase in belief has caused men to be pushed out of their rightful place. It is time to take our families back one show at a time and restore the family model to the structure needed for our next generation to survive.  It is with great Joy that Bishop Irvin and I tag team this series "It's A Family Affair" to push our generation to the next level.

    1.      Set Goals and look at our procrastination patterns and self defeating behaviors.

    2.      Reframe and let go of old childhood beliefs that prevent us from making good decisions.

    3.      Enhance communication skills

    4.      Reframe life, filling it with positive energy

I have some great stories about women who worked through their fears, anxieties, depression. I'd love to share a few of them with your listeners--and lead them through a step-by-step process to work through their issues and lead them to a higher level of functioning.
