    in Christianity

    Ephesians 5:25

"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."

Right Wing domestic terrorism hits Planned Parenthood again

    in Politics

A Right Wing domestic terrorist murdered a police officer and 2 civilians. He entered a Planned Parenthood with what seemed like an AK-47. While Americans have been showing an irrational fear for ISIS, it is evident that they should be more concerned with domestic terrorism.

This is not new. Planned Parenthood has been victimized by domestic terrorists for decades. Sadly it never gets the attention it should. We will give it the attention it must receive.

    Midnight Meditation with CharLena

    in Spirituality

This morning on Small Business Saturday and 2 days after Thanksgiving Day it is our best time to explore meditation as an act of Self Care and Self Love. What are these?

Self-Care is the act of being good to and for yourself, whether healthily, emotionally or physically. It's as simple as brushing your teeth or taking a daf off to regroup or even just saying no to something or someone when you are tired.

Self-Love is getting in touch with your true and allowing your feelings to explore everything about you and your life, so you can truly enjoy the world around you.

This week we start Self-Care/Self Love with a Gratitude Meditation, based on the Daily Word.

Join me and explore a more fulfilling life through Self-Care and Self-Love.

    Kids are not special.

    in Youth

I was at the mall today, just meandering, window shopping to pass some time. I was zoned out in my own world when all of a sudden I heard a kid just shouting and yelling at his mom. I kid you not, this kid said to his mother, “I hate you mom, you never get me anything that I want!” at this moment, his mom assured the kid that just last week, she bought him a brand new video game. The kid continues to throw a temper tantrum and act a fool. I continued to go about my business, until I encountered another mother and child scenario. This one irked me a little bit as well. In this scenario, a mother was talking to her daughter about how special she was and was just coddling the shit out of this girl. Now I’m all for positive reinforcements with your kids and all, but damn lady, your kid is not that special. I continue about my business and then I came to the thought of, “is this how every parent sees their kids”? As someone special? I get it it’s your kid and you’re proud of having them, but to treat them like they are the tits, is beyond me. So in today’s podcast, I will rant about whether or not today’s kids are being too coddled. Hope you enjoy today’s episode.
