(GOP) — They Could Change, But They Won’t
Thu Aug 7th, 2014 at 12:32:26 PM EST
Rand Paul lays down some truth:
“The party can’t become the opposite of what it is. If you tell people from Alabama, Mississippi or Georgia, ‘You know what, guys, we’ve been wrong, and we’re gonna be the pro-gay-marriage party,’ they’re either gonna stay home or — I mean, many of these people joined the Republican Party because of these social issues. So I don’t think we can completely flip.”
It’s really a choice. Does the GOP want to compete in states outside of the Deep South and make themselves into a viable national party that can win a presidential election?
The answer is ‘no.’
And, for now, this is a very good thing.

"And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." Gen. 1:28
I picture Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. They are young, alive with enthusiasm for the new world around them, daily discovering with delight the wonders of God's handiwork, marveling and rejoicing in the diverse beauty and intricate patterns of life around them.
I, however, wake up, shower and dress, kiss my spouse and kids good-bye and head out for another day at work. I return home each evening and my "other" job begins: I clean or fix those things that need my attention, take care of the yards, pay the bills, help with homework-anything I can do to be a loving partner to my spouse and to be a good parent to my children.
Don't get me wrong- I love my life and all the challenges it brings. but in the hustle and bustle of daily life, I miss that raw pleasure of discovering the world around me. I forget that the same intricate beauty that awed Adam and Eve is at my fingertips too. Instead, every night, I pull the covers over my head, sleep a heavy sleep and prepare for another day.

Second chances and forgiveness go hand in hand, right? So you can't have a successful second chance without forgiveness, but maybe you can still forgive without giving a second chance. It can be counter-productive for people to “back track” when it comes to relationships. Once it is over it is over. It ended for a reason, but people may be able to forgive the person and/or themselves, if required, and move on.
However, forgiveness is ever present in all types of successful relationships. Nobody’s perfect so it’s likely you will need to be forgiving and understanding to those you love. Is there a certain minimum level of forgiveness required to facilitate a second chance in a relationship? Is there a major difference if the relationship has been over, is about to be over, or just ended? Are there things that are generally agreed upon as "unforgivable"? Is it best or possible to forgive and forget? Can a relationship heal by forgiveness alone? If you truly forget are you destined to have it happen again?

Lets talk about what happened to Mike Brown and what lead to his killing by a police officer (Darren Wilson). How to improve relationships between the cops and the community and how race plays a part in the way police interact with us. Do African American parents have to teach their young sons and daughters how to act when stopped by the police? Its a shame that it has come to that but now-a-days I think we should. So I will be holding my radio shows every friday at 11:30am. Thanks for joining the conversation. My very first show will air 8/29/2014. I am also trying to book a special guess for that day so stay tune and please listen, call in or txt your questions on show day.

The VOC Nation Radio Network traces its roots back to 2009 in suburban Philadelphia. Bruce Wirt took over the afternoon shift on the Voice America Health and Wellness Network and proclaimed himself, “your new ‘Voice of Choice’ in afternoon radio.” The V-O-C in VOC Nation was born.
Over the next 3 years, Wirt took his act to Philadelphia radio, eventually settling in at independently owned WNJC 1360AM. The VOC Nation Radio Network spun away from WNJC in October 2012 and took to the “cloud”, using their solid fan base to instantly become one of the most listened to mediums on the Internet. In 2014, VOC Nation merged with Brady Hicks' IN THE ROOM Internet Radio Network, giving the combined medium over 50,000 monthly listeners.
VOC Nation Radio streams live programming 7 days a week, and has forged partnerships with BlogTalkRadio, Stitcher Internet Radio, Podomatic, iTunes, and GoDaddy to bring daily live entertainment and downloadable podcasts to listeners worldwide. VOC Nation has over 100,000 twitter followers and has consistently ranked in the top 1% of downloadable podcasts as ranked by Podomatic, and in the top 5% of live streaming programming as ranked by Stitcher Internet Radio.
On August 28, 1963, hundreds of thousands descended upon our nation’s capital to make a stand against poverty and racial discrimination. The “March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom” went down in history as one of the most pivotal points of change in our country’s history. One of the most notable highlights of the march was a speech delivered by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., which later became known as the “I Have a Dream” speech. In it, Dr. King cast a spot light on the social, racial and financial injustices that had plagued “the negro” since they had been “made free” exactly 100 years ago, to the day, by the Emancipation Proclamation. This past August 28 marked the 50 anniversary of that historic day and King’s historic speech. A day that is credited with being one of the most significant events that brought about The Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act in 1965. But today, 50+ years later, has the dream that so many marched, bled and died for come to fruition? Is the so-called “negro” really free? Have things changed for the better or have we squandered the inheritance of our elders and given ourselves over to a new slave master, sin? Join us, as we search the Holy Bible to interpret Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream
We air programs on Blog Talk Radio at the following times: Sun 2:00pm, Mon 8:00pm, Tue 8:00pm, Wed 7:00pm, Thur 8:00pm, Fri 7:00pm & Sat 9:00am. All times are Eastern Standard Time.
