Friends and Family Online Bible Study

    in Religion

This week our study will take us to the 23rd Chapter of the Book of Matthew.  Thank The Lord for those of you who participate in our weekly online Bible Study.  God continues to bless this study.  The Lord continues to enlighten our gathering with love and abundant truth.

Matthew 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:

3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

Author Selena Robins, on writing romance, stardom and more on Authors on the Air

    in Books

Authors on the Air host Pam Stack welcomes the very talented author Selena Robins.  Unable to stay focused in school—science and math didn’t equate to happily ever after—Selena excelled in Daydreaming 101 and Creative Writing. Her entrepreneurial skills became evident in the latter part of Junior High when she found herself penning essays and short stories for five bucks a pop. Her future as a writer was foreshadowed by winning first prize in a contest run by the Humane Society—a romance about two race horses who fell in love (the filly won the race and the stud). Selena has continued her passion for happily ever after both in her life (okay, some days she’s sitting in first class on the Frazzled Express…but still) and in her books. In love with her family, friends, books, laughter, hockey, lively discussions, chocolate and red wine (sometimes all at the same time), Selena is a dragon slayer who enjoys reading and writing sassy heroines and hot heroes. After giving up her dream of becoming a movie star/dancer/singer, Selena decided that her second-in-line dream was to be a writer. Even if she never got published, she’d still want to write stories with fun characters and happy ever after endings.

    About Us:

Random Talk is a product of a long standing friendship, now coming up on 15 years. Recently on one of our weekly walks, Carol and I came up with this brilliant idea. We decided to give people a look into our great discussions and weekly rants.

    Our Friendship:

Friends since 1999, our friendship has taught us patience, forgiveness, support and a host of other lessons. Since then we have both become college graduates, working professionals, business owner, wives, and Carol a mother. We hope to continue our loving friendship for years to come.

Who's Fooling Who, let's get involved

    in Social Networking

Real Men Speak is a radio talk show design to stimulate conversation within our community and amongst men and women and especially the younger generation. The show is designed again to stimulate  conversation to help to change the way things are being developed and executed. I've learned that the only way things will change is if we come up with new ways of thinking and doing. So what I'm asking is that you the listening audience, You my friends and family, You my Colleagues come and join this movement to help make things better. The real man speak radio show is full of different ways to help create options for both our young men and men in general as well as the family. It takes a village to raise a standard for change

The real men speak radio show does not have a topic of discussion, we want to have open dialogue conversation with you about the matters of the heart ,  and how to change the events  that are taking place.

I need each and every one to become a player in the game and voice your opinions and your concerns so that our young listeners can hear the love that's coming from concerned  people like ourselves.  Myself and Real men speak cannot Change this on our own We are just one voice one voice. Please get involved

"Family Talk Wednesday" Why are kids so disrespectful these days?

    in Youth

Parents have no control. Either they dont want control or it is taken away from them by the government. If a kid gets his *** whipped because of bad behaviour, all the little bastard has to do is go to school and say he is being abused. In addition, parents want to be friends and not role models for their kids. No responsibility from the parents. There is a reason for social structure. Teachers also have no control. If an instructor gives a bad grade, the kid goes and cries to the parents that the teacher doesnt like him/her and then the parent gets irate and goes off on the teacher. The teacher then in turn, says, "I dont get paid enough to deal with this bullshit." and just passes the little bastard. In addition, teachers are at fault for not having a good bullshit detector to identify the bad kids. Finally, teachers mess up by not asserting authority and try to be friends instead of mentors.

Television shows depicting the children running amok. First off it is the parents that need to stop allowing their kids to watch this crap, but kids are easily influenced by television. The things their parents did and they turned out great and most of them respected others and were good kids...not all but most unlike today. Kids now have more freedom now which I am thankful for. For me, I don't really listen to today's music. I like music from my grand parents and great grand parents generations. It just sounds better in my opinon.

God's Promise To Prodigals (Lk 15:20 NKJV)

    in Christianity

"When he was still a great way off, his father ... had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him." (Luke 15:20 NKJV)  1) Was the Prodical Son wrong for demanding his inheritance?   2) Is there any comparison with the Son squandering his inheritance on parties and prostitutes as with God's children taking their tithes and offering for a night out with friends and evening staying in a hotel? 3) Why did the Father run to his Son  when seeing him afar off?

Why those who think they look good don’t and those that don’t do

    in Religion

Has anyone, besides me, ever wondered why those we are told are so beautiful are often times not and those who we are told are not often times are?  Remember that popular girl or boy in high school who seemed to get all of the breaks and attention and everyone wanted to be seen with only to finally get a chance to hang out with them and learn that there was nothing really there.  Quite disappointing wasn’t it especially if you sacrificed truly good friends to get the opportunity to rub elbows with them.

How about that unpopular girl or boy that everyone advised you to stay away from and even though you wanted to heed their advice, you slip one day and actually have a conversation with them.  It was then you learned that all you had heard about them was wrong and that there was so much more there, it would take you a life time to learn.  Each day was exciting to be around them and each day came with a lifelong lesson attached.  You enjoyed being in their presence so much that it even made you a better person to be around them.
