Manuel Rosso earned an undergraduate degree in marketing and started his career in the world of traditional beverage and package goods brand management. After a spending a number of years roaming the grocery aisles, he entered the MBA program at MIT and switched to the world of technology by joining Dell. He caught the startup bug and was hired at IMVU as vice president of marketing. There, he had the opportunity to work with Will Harvey, Eric Ries and the rest of the IMVU team at the time the concept of the Lean Startup was taking shape. He took that culture to Food on the Table, the brainchild of his year as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Austin Ventures. Says Manuel: "This concept was born out of a need to get organized with menu planning, to create easy prep meals that everyone enjoyed and to save time and money at the grocery store. At Food on the Table, our intent is to deliver an experience that is unique, yet practical. That's why we work closely with moms, including my wife, as we continue to build and improve Food on the Table concept." Will the future of meal planning be in apps? After considering all the money and time families spend on groceries, there has to be a change in the way consumers organize their weekly meals.
Today, Pop Artist Jamie Roxx (www.JamieRoxx.us) talks with Manuel, Couture Designer and Fashion/Style Icon who will be live from his studio in Nashville.
He was responsible for making Johnny Cash the man in black.
He crafted Elvis’ signature gold lamé suit.
He fashioned the garments Bob Dylan wore when performing for the Pope.
He has dressed all three Hank Williams.
And if this is not enough to bring him a legendary status in music history, you can thank him for both The Rolling Stones and The Grateful Dead’s notorious insignias.
But it doesn’t stop here: presidents, athletes, dancers, artists and movie stars also have donned his glittering couture. He has wardrobed nearly 100 movies and tens of television shows.
The man is not a fashion designer; he is a costumer and an artist. His original designs have become the trademark of true American style.
He is Manuel.
While Manuel is best known for dressing the stars, you don't have to be a celebrity to wear Manuel!
The showroom, located at the corner of 8th and Broadway in downtown Nashville, is open Monday through Saturday. We have a wide variety of men's and women's wear available for sale or rent, as well as accessories and footwear to boot! Pieces can be taken off the rack and adjusted to your body if needed, or you simply can use the showroom pieces as inspiration for your custom garment!

Have you showered yet? There's a good chance that, following that Pay-Per-View card last weekend, you might have a thin film of filth all over you. Floyd Mayweather is probably still the best fighter on the planet, but his ego was deflated some after a prolonged tussle with Marcos Maidana in their rematch. That was interesting to some, but not much more on the paid card was, unfortunately. This week on TQBR Radio, Patrick Connor of Queensberry Rules welcomes Alex McClintock, deputy editor for ABC Radio National and Queensberry Rules. Not much is on tap for the next week or so, but Orlando Salido, George Groves and a few others may pop up in conversation. Thanks for tuning in!
