Diabetes Late Nite Inspired by Adele

    in Health

Tonight Mr. Divabetic kicks off the New Year with musical inspiration of Adele.

Every story that Adele is telling on her album, “25”  with every song, with every line, is a story that has left a scar on her heart.

If you struggled managing your diabetes over the past year then let New Years inspire you to come up with resolutions to better your life for the future.  Why not use your resolution this year to set goals to better your diabetes management and overall health?

It’s not always easy, but it is possible to make healthy changes that stick. This year, set yourself up for success.  Your diabetes management goals for the New Year should be specific, measurable, action-oriented, realistic and time-limited. One of our favorite resolutions for 2016 is to always be prepared for a low or high blood glucose reaction.

Remember to reward yourself for achieving your goals. Your small successes are important! If you successfully lose 10 pounds by March, treat yourself to a safe manicure or go see Adele perform live this year.

Adele’s album, “25” has sold six million copies in the US and become the 20th album to sell at least a million copies in a single week in the Nielsen era. It is the largest selling album of 2015 in total, surpassing the sales of Taylor Swift's 1989.

Guests include Poet Lorraine Brooks, Mama Rose Marie, the Charlie's Angels of Outreach (Patricia Addie-Gentle RN, CDE and MaryAnn Nicolay MEd, NDTR), Jennifer Jacobs, Dana Collins Carr and Cindy Lou, who is living with type 2 diabetes from Kentucky.

Throughout the podcast we will be playing selected cuts from “25” courtesy of SONY Music.

Diabetes Late Nite is a fast-paced, full-filled hour of diabetes education and wellness advice that encourages listeners to “laugh a little, learn a  lot.”

How Much Would It Cost To Clone Myself?

    in Lifestyle

    Some strategies that work:

•Turn it off – Disconnect on the weekend.  Try it, at least for one day or even a few hours each night. Put the phone down and turn off the computer.

•Trim, trim, trim – Say no to everything that is either not essential or doesn’t add something valuable to your life. Be ruthless!

•Pay attention to your health – We know what we need to do, but it isn’t a priority until we have a health crisis. We are far more productive and happier when we get enough sleep, eat a little healthier and fit in some type of activity.

•Minimize toxins– By that I don’t mean chemicals. Minimize the negative influences around you. Avoid toxic people (complainers, whiners, poor attitudes.)

•Spend time alone – It is crucial for lowering stress, increasing happiness and encouraging creativity.

•Relationships do matter – Set aside quality time with your family and friends..

•Treat yourself– Get a pedicure or a facial. Better yet, schedule a massage.

•Explore the world – Take a new route, visit a new town. Attend a local performance, play amateur photographer or go to the park and watch children play.

•Expand your awareness – Take a class, learn to paint or try something new that you’ve always wanted to learn. Read a book that sparks your interest or try listening to uplifting music.

•Remember fun – Laugh, joke, play, find your sense of humor.

KINGS IN THE MORNING/News/Uganda/Boycotting Christmas/WHERE'S ROBERT REDWINE?

    in Radio

Here we are, October 5, and Robert Stedwine is suppose to have been back, THIS month - but I guess technically, he's got 26, 25, something like that, more days to still make that the truth.  What I'm hoping is, PEDI-WINE, like in PEDICURE for the feet, gets USE to NOT being on the show, and decides NOT to come back, but that's like some people hoping DONALD TRUMP is NOT the lead candidate for the REPUBLICANS.  347-205-9366 - But hey, if the audience was Robert TRUMP Redwine to be back, then good for you guys.  It's still early in the game - write this number down - 347-205-9366.

    01 always awkward

    in Entertainment

Diva gets asked her age and other personal stats during a pedicure (supposed to be relaxing) while Ducky announces something no one expected (or does she).

    in Spirituality

Which do you think God is pleased with? Which do you think will get you into heaven? Which one do you spend the most time on?
Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7) He will walk right pass the person in the bad suit to get to the pure heart. Something for us to think about.

God is concerned about our hearts being clean. Psalms 51:10 say, create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me.  Church folk are concerned about that clean outfit they are wearing Sunday. Got to get my weave done, my manicure and pedicure done, my shoes have got to match my outfit. Don’t get me wrong, there is no sin in doing these things. But how much did you get into the word of God for that ugly way you treated your sister, brother. How much did you meditate on the word to move it by Ephesians 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
. If we spend as much time on our spiritual man as we do the natural man, I wonder, what kind of a difference would be made in our lives. By talking to God about our issues and our sins, we are confessing to Him that we have gone astray. When we repent of our sin, we turn from it and seek to go God’s way.
.As forgiven children of God, we are free to set our heart and mind on things that are pure and pleasing to God. We seek to fill our minds with God's Word and God's will so that there is no room in our heart for sinful thoughts and desires to take over and set up shop.
Without the sincere motive to be walking on the Lord's straight path, we will experience much unrest and a continual longing for things which are outside of God's will.
PRAYER: Lord it is my desire to be a person after your heart, In Jesus name, Amen.
