    in Books

Listen to the Chrisian Authors on Tour (CAOT) Blog Talk Radio Show on Friday, 11/13 at 2 p.m. (EST) for a LIVE interview with Christian author, Christy Brunke.

Ever since Christy Brunke won a Butterball turkey in a short story contest in sixth grade, she’s dreamed of penning novels, memoirs, and children’s books. But first she met other adventures. Christy earned a degree in English and writing, moved to China to study Mandarin and teach at a university.  Afterward, she returned to the States where she attended seminary, taught music as well as drama, and fell in love with a zany youth pastor.

After Christy got married, she considered the unique gift God had given her and how different her life would be if her husband, Mark, wasn’t in it. A story grew in her heart; and it was one she felt compelled to share. Christy's first book, Snow Out of Season, is that story. The book is scheduled for release December 1, 2015.

The Power of Intention and Multivalent Information

    in Spirituality

Correct information is the oil that keeps gears smoothly in motion. It is the defining difference in the animal kingdom and life itself. What is the source of informaiton - biology, chemistry, philosophy, dogma, concept, sense input, lower spirit forces, religions, beliefs, observation, experience, imagination, dreamtime, astral influxes, poetic inspirations, platitudes, Higher SELF, etc.?

Nothing exists without information at its core defining how it functions and responds to life. Energy is information. In modern times we are quite sloppy and cavalier with information. In days of yore, we were quite ignorant of information except in a most mundane survival sense, or superstitious sense.

In present time, we suffer from too much information, insufficent TRUTH information, mixed messages in our information, internet hodgepodge of unreliable information, government-control-grid information, candy-coated political information, educationally corrupted and diluted information, historically-twisted information, and other anomolies of information too much to enumerate.

The point is that information is not as it seems to be. We need to get a serious eye upon the business of information or else we will be manipulated by information that we have not analyzed for its TRUTH. Do you want to be a victim of information bias or GIGO?

We need common sense and guidance regarding the very nature of information. We NEED discernment and inisghts about how to analyze and sort out the onslaught of information we have come to rely upon as new 'daily bread' of life.

If we don't get some serious attention and discernment going on here, we will slip and slide within the mud of consciousness. We are worthy of more than such an immersion in the idea chaos GENERATED by unexamined information, and that includes the nature of information itself, yes?

Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey - with Pianist/Composer/Producer Amina Figarova

    in Music

Amina Figarova was born in Baku, Azerbaijan.  Piano lessons came early - and she trained to become a classical concert performer.  In the late 80's, she became immersed in Jazz studies at the Rotterdam Conservatory.  Coming to the States in 1989, she completed her education at Berklee.  It was there that she met Bart Platteau, a flutist from Belgium.

Together, Amina and Bart were invited - in 1998 - to join the Monk Institute Summer Jazz Colony in Aspen.  And there have been countless shows - everywhere - since then.  And a baker's dozen of albums!  "Blue Whisper"  is her current project, full of personal reflection and haunting melodies.  With Amina on this gorgeous ride, is her touring sextet - and a bevy of prestigious guests.  Including past "Hybrid Jazz" visitor Wayne Escoffery.  And a man whose name you've heard quite a bit on the show, bassist Luques Curtis.

We'll certainly heard tracks from this incredible CD - and talk to Amina about the road that took her to such articulate expression of her musical heart.  We'll also hear offerings from November Babies - this month is full of strong Jazz voices and instrumentalists.  We might even thrown in some December children - Amina is one of those :)

Join us at NOON Eastern time on Tuesday, 11/3/2015.  Our fascinating guest joins us in the second hour.  We hope to see you in our Chat Room!
