After his graduate work, Brian worked as a marketing assistant for the University of Wyoming.
Brian began working for SIMA in 2004 as the Membership Administrator. He has traveled extensively promoting the association and working with its members. He briefly served as the Interim Executive Director for SIMA while they searched for a new Executive Director after my departure.
Brian and his wife, Maria, live in Columbus Ohio with their son Henry. He was born and raised in Green River Wyoming which explains his love for the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.
Frank Farias, former Chicago IL firefighter joins our host, John Allin. Frank talks about what it was like being a firefighter for the city of Chicago, how he came to work for TSI and how his current position still allows him the opportunity to serve the people of Chicago.
John Allin welcomes guest Craig Kemmerling. He is the National Sales Manager for the Louis Berkman Work Products Co. Craig has demonstrated his ability to "drive" sales with a strong knowledge of the Meyer, Swenson & Magnum product lines and tremendous application knowledge and "know-how" in the Work Truck industry. Craig is a 4-year veteran of the snow and ice control business (Meyer & Swenson), most recently Business Development Manager. Prior to Meyer and Swenson, Craig spent over ten years in the outdoor power equipment business with OPE dealerships and MTD.
On tonight's show we have an honest discussion regarding the "salt shortage" that occurred this winter. Was there a shortage? Can steps be taken to keep from being in this position again in the future? Join us as we discuss this very important topic with Mike Betts, President of WGS.
Mike started his career in salt with Akzo Nobel where he worked for 8 years. In April 1998 he was asked to take over a salt facility in Fort Wayne Indiana. He formed With a Grain of Salt in June 1999 which of course is known today as WGS. Over the past 14 years he has added terminals in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. This growth has helped WGS to become one of the most respected suppliers to the commercial sector. Mike has developed an outstanding management team that has worked tirelessly to grow the business and develop new ways to move and sell salt. They pride themselves in meeting the needs of the smaller users. Mike is completely passionate about his life in salt and takes great pride in the many ways that WGS adds value to the snow and ice management industry.
As the former President of Pro-Tech
Manufacturing, Craig has years of experience and is a strong supporter of the snow and ice management industry. He served 8 years on the SIMA board of directors.
His company, Doggpoint is an organization that companies go to in order to maximize their opportunities. They offer the shortest path to sales success. They help you disrupt your market, not your organization.
Through our own experience, through our relationships and through our continual immersion in research, it was obvious the market paradigm had shifted. Customers are now more informed and empowered than ever before. They are well into the buying cycle before they engage with suppliers, are seeing little or no differentiation among those suppliers and are, more often than not, choosign on nothing more than price.
Join us as Craig explains this new venture.
