    Mud Toe at Midnight...

    in Spirituality

Mud Toe Sasquatch has been a researcher, a materials scientist, a product developer, a quality assurance manager, a schoolteacher, a house painter, a salesman, and amateur actor and director, and a videographer. No matter what avocation he tried, Mud Toe found himself plagued by a persistent sense of spiritual emptiness and an inescapable feeling that human society was fundamentally flawed. He has struggled with substance abuse and self-destructive behavior since he was a teenager.

Four years ago, Mud Toe embarked on a spiritual journey working the Twelve Steps of recovery. Today, he is a PhD student at a well known Major University in the Midwest. He has also accepted a call to become a Healer of Society in the Nemenhah Native American tradition, which he has joined through spiritual adoption. He writes and speaks about his experiences in addiction and recovery, and publishes his words so they might reach those who need them. He maintains a Facebook page of his writings, and now will be sharing his thoughts on a weekly radio program on Withinsights radio called "Mud Toe at Midnight."

Mud Toe is not your average, everyday shaman. For him, it's not all "Love and Light." He is not afraid to access and embrace the darker elements of his experience. His intention is to be fully honest with his readers and his audience. He paints vivid pictures, and they're not always pretty.

Join Mud Toe every Friday at Midnight for a different kind of spiritual program.

    in Books

If you like Spider-Man, you are probably familiar with the alien Symbiote Venom.  Peter Parker's early run in with his sentient costume, at first, was welcomed.  But then things took a dire turn as events led Parker to realize his symbiotic relationship with the alien costume needed to end.  In the 616, Peter was able to separate himself from the costume w/ the help of some of his super hero buddies... but What If...?

Join Ronnie Adams, from the Screaming Boy Podcast, and myself, your constant Christmas Ham fisted host, Jesse Starcher as we take a brief look at how things may have turned out differently in "What If...? The Alien Costume Possessed Spider-Man "

Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 994

    in Self Help

SPECIAL TOPIC Night - "Child Abuse, Trauma and 12-Step Recovery" - STEP 2 - SCAN host Bill Murray will be joined by special guest co-host Rivka Edery, MSW, LCSW, from NYC, author of the book “Trauma and Transformation: A 12-Step Guide." Together they will lead tonight's discussion on STEP 2: "Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity." Step Two is about asking for help, and being receptive to receiving this help. Survivors, especially, often hide their fundamental lack of trust. Operating in a superficial world, fighting for respect, and lacking in support to pursue a spiritual life, survivors press ahead in spite of their collection of battle scars. Such people find themselves greatly challenged to maintain an appearance of having it all together, and are longing to trust and to be fully expressed. Survivors are struggling with courage and determination to make their lives work, in spite of this great, gaping wound. ~~ A child abuse survivor herself, Rivka Edery is grateful for the spiritual recovery she found in the 12 Steps of AA. She's been active in the 12 Step community for over 17 years. Bill Murray credits his 30 plus years of recovery to the spiritual power of the 12 Step program, too. He founded the recently launched Adult Survivors of Child Abuse Anonymous (ASCAA). ~~ Join us every two weeks to further examine a 12 Step approach to recovery from abuse. Next show we'll address STEP 3. ~~ Please see our web page at: www.NAASCA.org/Trauma-12Step or write to Rivka at: rebecca.edery@gmail.com

  • Exploring Israel, Dr. Seuss’s Legacy and Eritrean Art

    in Travel

Just for Christmas... NBC News correspondent and former Middle East Bureau Chief, Martin Fletcher, joins World Footprints to share his new book, Walking Israel.  Fletcher’s book chronicles his adventures and insights as he walked along the coast of Israel meeting people and immersing himself in his surroundings.  We will discuss some of the misperceptions that some have of Israel and why a visit to the historic country is worth considering.

Then, the art of human rights in the African Nation of Eritrea takes center stage as we introduce you to artist and activist Elsa Gebreyesus who is using her art to encourage hope, preserve history and fight political oppression across an ocean.

Finally, “Who-ville” comes alive and everyone from Horton to the Cat in the Hat raises awareness of a variety of social issues when curator Bill Dreyer takes us inside the art of Ted Geisel (Dr. Seuss).  Dreyer represents the Art of Dr. Seuss and he will tell us why Dr. Seuss was ahead of his time with his art and its commentary on everything from discrimination, the environment, to the state of the economy.

  • Turning Up The Gospel With Christian Rapper Tornado 4:18 and Eddie Daniels

    in Religion

Tornado 4:18 Born in Baltimore MD. The name Tornado 4:18 came from one of the many rambling conversations that he was having one day and he said that he want to be one of the strongest
unstoppable forces in music and in spreading God's word. A tornado he said "is an unstoppable force that clears paths and changes lives."The number 4:18 actually references scripture St. Luke 4:18, which reads as follows: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed." Many of the lyrics written are an effort to reach the young before they go down a path from which recovery may be difficult or so difficult that they do not even try. In addition to reaching those on the path to get them a word of encouragement to change direction and come to God, "I want to spread God's message just the way my mentors spread it to me".

Eddie Daniels, "I am a versatile Gospel artist, singer and songwriter. My style is unique and it speaks truth. May all who hear my music be blessed" Eddie Daniels is a gospel artist, singer and songwriter who was born and raised in New Haven CT. He has been singing since he was a young boy. Eddie started out singing and writing R&B, hip-hop and pop music but transitioned into gospel music. In the process of singing and writing secular music God has changed his life around and has directed him in a different direction. Now Eddie desires nothing more than to serve God and use his gift for Gods glory and for the building of his kingdom. Best male vocalist at the 2014 "Holla back Gospel Awards Show".
