What Would Nat, Garvey, or Malcolm do?
Join us Thursday June 25 at 9 pm EST as Alex and Asha discuss the historical legends of Black liberation, Nat Turner, Marcus Garvey, and Malcolm X. Not only in terms of their philosophy, actions, and achievements during their era, but also in terms of what would they do in regards to present day events.
How would Nat Turner, leader of what may have been the most influential slave revolt in American history, handle being a prisoner of the modern police state?
What would Garvey do to motivate a freedom movement among the super forgiving fans of integration?
And could Malcolm convince the modern Melanated man to give up his kool aid and cable diet?
Let's talk, debate, and discuss the impact these three men had on their day and the ramifications if they were alive during ours.
You can call in at (917)889-2830
You can tune in and listen.

OHHHH, and we are bringing a new segment to you all called "Flashing Black" where we take a historical item and dissect it to see if it stands the test of time. Mind of Mansion Depth Perspective Episode 139: Matt Kelley @fantasy_mansion explains why coaches do not possess playcalling black magic.
Lamenting the fickle king making role that we have entrusted to the sport media. Mike Martz and Brian Billick ran successful offenses for many years and won Superbowls, and they are now punchlines.
Derek Loville is evidence of Marc Trestman's deference to running back targets.
Lucas Oil Stadium must have been built on sacred football ground.
Coaches have some of the power, but none of the control.
While we genuflect before Chip Kelly, he is not a false prophet.
Football is also held captive by a widely held positive reinforcement vs. negative reinforcement fallacy.
Russell Wilson and Malcolm Butler decided the Superbowl, not Pete Carroll and Bill Belichick.
Siding with P. Diddy over Sal Alosi.
Tom Brady and Peyton Manning deserve to be the boss of their coaches like Roger Federer.

As we have been talking and building the NU CODE for several months now, we can clearly see why we need it. Brother Dr Umar Abdullah Johnson done violated the code.....No not the NU CODE, but his own code regarding relationships. No room for "CULT OF PERSONALITY" EVERYBODY got to answer. The Purpose of Shura: is to share each others understanding so that we all benefit from the best understanding; share each other's experience so we all can learn from the best experience. Shuraa is to bring many together to learn from the whole so each of us goes away with power of the whole." Imam W. D. Mohammed (ra) Detroit 10/12/97)
We want a democratic order, democratic in the light of what democracy should be in Islam. Don't think that I'm saying democracy, and you think of America. When I say democracy, you should think of the Shuraa of Muhammad, SAWS. He established Shuraa." Imam W. D. Mohammed (ra) Masjid Malcolm Shabazz January 9, 1983
Listen to this special edition of the Pan-African Journal hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. This broadcast presents our regular PANW reports with emphasis placed on developments in the aftermath of the racist massacre of nine African Americans in Charleston, South Carolina. The second hour continues the acknowledgement of Black Music Month where we feature a rare archival interview of legendary African American Jazz composer and artist John Coltrane talking with writer Frank Kofsky. Coltrane talks about Malcolm X, social issues and his journey towards making innovations in the music field. In the final hour we focus on the history of Charleston, South Carolina through a classic radio broadcast from 1948 on Denmark Vesey who led a slave rebellion in 1822. The massacre in Charleston on June 17 took place just one day after the scheduled slave rebellion some 193 years ago. We conclude the program with the music of Leroy Carr (1905-1935) who was originally from Nashville and made a tremendous contribution to African American Blues music during the early 20th century.
