The Boy Scouts of America in the USVI was served in the early 20th Century through National Council Direct Service. Then the troops later were added as the Virgin Island District in the Puerto Rico-Virgin Islands Council. During the late 1960s & early 1970s, Troop 152, sponsored by Saint Patrick's Church, Frederiksted, Saint Croix, formed a steel band of grammar-school-age Scouts that was managed by Vivian Bennerson. The band toured internationally.
The Scout Association of the British Virgin Islands operates as a branch of the United Kingdom Scout Association, as the British Virgin Islands' affiliation as a British Overseas Territory. The BVI Scout Oath and Law, & other Scouting requirements, closely follow that of the United Kingdom.
Jump Up, held 4 times yearly, is a "carnival like" cultural party held in the streets & along the boardwalk of Christiansted. Sponsored by the CRRA (Christiansted Restaurant & Retail Association), it has become one of the islands' favorite social events for both locals & visitors alike.
Friends of Virgin Islands National Park and the National Park Service will partner to present the Annual Folk Life Festival in celebration of Black History Month in February on St. John.

Shakira is featured on Life Lessons because we think she has something significant to teach others.
As a small girl she was rejected from the school choir and her music teacher told her that her voice sounded like a goat. If someone had said something like this to me I would probably be embarrassed to my core and would take on oath either to never sing again. But garnering the courage to sing infront of crowd in the same trait that was made fun of takes quite a character indeed. You need not fit everywhere: Her parents encouraged her saying “You have a beautiful voice, stick to what you are, don’t sing any less loud than what you think.” VALUE ORIGINALITY! The first two albums failed: Her first two albums Magia and Peligro, which were released in the early 1990s failed to achieve any commercial success. It took till 2006 for the phenomenal song “Hips Don’t Lie”. And in 2010 it was waka waka which has over 700 million views on youtube. What takes for someone to reach such a remarkable success- Persistence, patience, hard work, innovation, passion, belief, hope, dream, dedication. Giving it back Shakira is very well known for her involvement in philanthropic activity and charity work through her concerts. When she was young, her father took her to a local park to see the orphans who lived there and she said to herself ” One day, I am going to help these kids when I become a famous artist!” People have achieved a lot of things and some of them have decided to pay back.

1 Timothy 16
The word is not in the original text of the Bible but was late put in the scriptures do to the corrupt belief of the Roman's, who had total power to do as they please. I know some of you are going to say, this is not true!, well let's take a look at the word it self; Demon-english, Daimon-greek, the root of daimon is daio which means to distribute fortunes or destiny. There are two more words used in the Bible to explain demon but they are from the latin tongue, so you know the Bible was not written in latin. 1 Timothy 7 Be careful research your words as so with fables, which the Bibles warnes us against several times in the Bible but we ignore this warning.

Salim Abdul-Khaliq was born Ron Charles in Chicago, Illinois in 1954. He was born with a constant desire to read, write and study.
In 1974, while in the army, he was positively influenced by a muslim brother named John Sanders, now known as Yahya Abdul Ali-Karriem. He became a mentor to Ron. This mentoring led Ron to do further research and investigation into the faith of Islam and into Malcolm X.
As a young black man Islam gave Ron a profound understanding of God, self knowledge, and African American history. This led to his conversion to Islam in 1974 and later a name change.
The name change is significant and symbolic of a change of consciousness. He is now Salim Abdul-Khaliq. This name means Peaceful Servant of the Creator. In addition, he also gave his daughters Islamic names.
God has enabled Salim Abdul-Khaliq to devote himself full time to his teachings and community activism. He has now opened a bookstore in Chicago, Illinois. Salim opened the bookstore to impress upon African-American people the importance of learning about their great heritage through reading.

Our next topic is one of the most important topics of the year. Growing up Some of us played Cops and Robbers. Inspiring to become a Police Officer is a dream for many kids still today. Anthony, personally went to College for Criminal Justice and passed the intial screening to become a Hazel Crest Police Officer. After really considering what all is involved when obtaining a career of an Police Officer Anthony decided to decline the Police Academy.
Being a Police Officer Today is probably the most difficult Career in our Current Society. With Smartphones, Social media and the increase technology the question keeps coming up about all Police Officers being required to have Cameras 24/7 to monitor their activities because of the many recent events involving Police Officers and what many consider unlawful acts.
Trent and myself need everyone to help us make this show one of the best of the year. Not for numbers or listeners but for resources and solutions to this ongoing problem. Adele's life lessons come from her lyrics- all blissful moments of sensual indulgence. Our Top 5 life lessons learned from her lyrics.Don’t Believe Everything You Hear People tend to talk trash. A casual misspoken word can be the spark that turns into a blaze that ruins lives. In “Rumour Has It” Adele expresses her severe distaste for groundless statements with the line, “You've been telling people things that you shouldn’t be.” Although it is not in your power to control what others say, it is fully your decision when it comes to deciding what to believe.Be Cautious Because life is unexpected, it can be prudent to exercise a little bit of caution when it comes to matters of the heart. .Moving On In “Someone Like You,” Sometimes, your best play is to simply accept that, think good thoughts, and move on. Sometimes A Little Rage Is Good When you’re having a hard time moving on, you might need that burst of anger to help you finally see the truth that sets you free. Just like Adele says in “Rolling In The Deep”: “There’s a fire starting in my heart/Reaching a fever pitch, it’s bringing me out the dark/Finally I can see you crystal clear.” Value Your Relationship With Your Kids “Hello” isn’t about an ex lover. It’s about being away from the people who are the most important aspect of your life: your children. In her lyrics, Adele laments over her guilt of being away from her kids. Take Adele’s song as a cautionary tale and always remember to put your kids first.
Blogger Roosh Valizadeh had the city of Chicago up in arms over his “International Tribal Meet Up Day,” which was a gather of men who stand for the right to be “pro-rape.” Valizadeh referred to his event as a gathering of men’s rights activist who had decided to “come out” about their stance on legal rape. He is now claiming that the whole ordeal was a satire and has canceled the event.
The men were supposed to meet at a flagpole located at Devon Avenue and Sheridan Road that meet at the edge of Rogers Park and Edgewater on Saturday at 8 p.m. The meet was meant to develop “meaningful friendships” and hear from their fearless leader who believes it is every man’s right to impress himself on a female if it’s off public grounds.
“I propose that we make the violent taking of a woman not punishable by law when done off public grounds,” he wrote on his blog a year ago.
Valizadeh also considers himself an expert on picking up women and provides advice to his followers on how to lure in the enemy. That’s right, he considers the opposite gender to be the enemy and often refers to them as such.
“Up to now, the enemy has been able to exert their power by isolating us and attacking with shrieking mobs, but we’ll be able to neutralize that tactic by amassing in high numbers come February 6,” he wrote. “I will exact furious retribution upon anyone who challenges you in public on that date.”
