If you are still making the same mistakes at fifty that you were at twenty, you need to ask God for wisdom. What you are in the present, was determined by the decisions you made in the past. If you want to change your future, learn to make better decisions .
YOUTH EMPOWERMENT/POLICE INTERACTION
Black Men are being beaten and killed by cops all across the nation. Many of them are young men who are just starting their lives and are already disadvantaged.
Empowering our youth will help them make better decisions when dealing with the police, but also help them to avoid situations where the police have to be involved.
Empowering our youth also means providing them with the tools to interact with police that will decrease the chances of a negative outcome.
Police must be held accountable for their actions, but our youth must also be given tools to help them understand how to interact with police.
This week on "The Bridge" Radio, Special Guest Lloyd Scott will share his experience as an LAPD officer and take us inside proactive interaction with cops and ways to empower our youth.
Scott is a Christian Minister and a 26 year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department. Fifteen of those years were spent as a Gang Intervention Liaison, developing and implementing the city's gang intervention program. Observing the dangers young men of color face, he now focuses on uplifting and restoring youth through empowerment methods, including directing them to services available to them. He also provides key information on interacting with police, so that youth can navigate their way through police interactions with the goal of more positive and safe exchanges.

in Self Help
One of your biggest competitive advantages is knowing yourself. The more you are able to understand yourself, the better equipped you are to deal with issues and problems on a daily basis, especially those that take you out of your comfort zone. Self-knowledge allows you to change any of your own inhibiting actions and unleash your creative abilities.
Personal growth can be difficult. it requires us to evaluate where we are and whether or not things are working in our lives. If they aren't working, we need to change. And, managing change can be stressful whether we instigated it or it has been created by an external force. Being cognizant of this and strategically planning the change for personal growth are both critical factors to a successful outcome.
Most human beings are uncomfortable with uncertainty. They resist change. They insist on doing things the old way. When this happens, it can produce stagnation and limit growth. People often resist anything that requires effort. Given the choice of doing something that requires little effort or doing something that is difficult, most people opt for the easy.
What about you? Do you make the practice of self-evaluation a habit? It's surprising that only a small percentage of people actually self-evaluate. You can greatly improve your effectiveness when you know yourself. Have you changed? Are you trying to be the way you've always been? Or, are you looking for new and different ways to do things.
Join Choices host, Judi Moreo, author of You Are More Than Enough, as she explores ways you can get to know yourself better and things you can do to make your life even better than it already is.
Some say he's a serial killer. Others, a vigilante doing what police can't or won't do. What's certain is that Dean Drayhart, a paraplegic, will soon sit on death row for killing hit-and-run drivers in Los Angeles. But not if the Mexican Mafia gets hold of him first. Somewhere, Dean's trained companion monkey Sid and girlfriend Cinda are outrunning the law in a fast '98 Trans Am. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department wants Sid, dead or alive. Dean may be broken in body but his fierce spirit is determined to protect Sid and Cinda in the most creative ways imaginable. Hardboiled, funny, relentless, and unexpectedly tender-hearted, Bite Harder delivers riotous action all the way to a bombshell climax that could only have been written by Anonymous-9, the self-declared mad scientist of crime fiction.
Praise for Bite Harder
"Brilliantly, brutally funny, so real you can taste it. Starring Sid, the cutest serial-killing helper monkey in all fiction." — Douglas Lindsay, author of the Barney Thomson novels
"Bite Harder is part screwball comedy, part killer crime story entirely unlike anything else out there. It is unique and vicious and bloody funny but what kept me turning pages deep into the night was its heart. I loved Hard Bite, and Bite Harder is even better, stronger, wilder." — Josh Stallings, Beautiful, Naked & Dead
"Few books have a killer monkey, and fewer still have a writer as funny, incisive, and down-and-dirty brilliant as Anonymous-9." — Benjamin Whitmer, Cry Father
We are going to discuss the early church and today church, one thing we know is that the Jewish had been meticulous in keeping their fasts, but their hearts were not in it(show like today church as well). It had become an outward ritual, but the inward reality of walking with God was fading. The God who examines the hearts says, "I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, and in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings" (Hosea. 6:6). Through Zechariah He says, "Check your spiritual health. Make sure that you’re not drifting from inward reality to outward religion.
