Mickey Fulp was on doing his monthly major market review. Volatility was the byword for July. While most of the major stock markets made new highs for the month, they backed off by month's end. Natural gas took a major hit. The Dollar was up, so the Euro was down. Oil too started sinking, as did Gold and Silver. Uranium looks like it might have ended its disastorous period. Interestlingly enough, Bitcoin was the model of stability.
Here's Mickey Fulp's Monthly Major Market Review for May 2014:
Stocks markets still going up.
Gold down, silver down, platinum up, palladium up, copper up.
Energy-oil up, nat gas down, uranium down again.
Dollar up, Euro down, 10Yr yield way down, bitcoin way way up!
April is over and that means it's time for the monthly major market review with Mickey Fulp. Well the stock markets continue to break new ground, at least the Dow and S&P 500.
Gold and Silver down;
Platinum and Palladium up;
WTI down, Brent Stable, Henry Hub up 10 percent;
Dollar down, Europ up, 10 yr up;
Bitcoin depends upon the day.

Tennessee, along with North Carolina, has become Ground Zero in the Obama Administration’s drive to roll back state laws restricting public-owned broadband networks. But what about on the ground? How do consumers, businesses and state legislators feel about these laws?
Tennessee State Senator Janice Bowling discusses her views on why it’s time to question the value of her state’s restrictions. Sen. Bowling believes in the free market system. But she also believes from first-hand experience that the public-owned fiber network in her hometown of Tullahoma successfully meets a vital economic need that the market can’t or won’t address.
The Senator describes her constituency’s progress in economic advancement, education, healthcare since launching their own network. Some Tennessee townsfolk can look across the bridge and see citizens in cities such as Chattanooga benefitting from gigabit networks. Sen. Bowling feels this is an injustice to communities, and last year led efforts eliminate the restriction on public utilities to expand their broadband services to nearby communities.

Atlanta - Actor Clay Chappell is no newcomer to the big screen. As a working actor, he has landed some prime bit parts in several major films. He played a councilman alongside Dennis Quaid in the remake of "Footloose" and did a scene with Robert Duvall in the Billy Bob Thorton directed "Jayne Mansfield's Car." But his brief appearance in the cinematic drama, "Selma," a historical period piece distributed by Paramount Pictures, has been heralded as the showstopper which may just define his career. In "Selma," Chappell plays a southern registrar opposite Oprah Winfrey as Annie Lee Cooper, a Black women seeking to vote in 1965 when racial discrimination made voting very difficult. The scene, only a minute in length, sets the tone for the entire film, and is Oprah's only speaking role in the movie.According to film critic, Derrick Bang ( the-march-resonates-anew ) "the scene with Oprah is a "landmark cinematic moment: a scene destined to be memorialized, and oft resurrected, for decades to come." Chappell's performance has been highlighted on talk shows across the country, including "Ellen," "The Tonight Starring Jimmy Fallon," "Barbara Walters," and "The Today Show." Not bad for an actor who has been working since 1996 to secure more than five lines in a film!Chappell originally auditioned for the role of one of the klansmen in the film, but was asked by casting director Cynthia Stillwell to come back and read for the role of the registrar for the film's director, Ava DuVernay. After doing so, Chappell was asked back but couldn't make the third audition and thought maybe he had lost further consideration. When his agent at J Pervis Talent called him a week later, requesting a table read, he remained hopeful. DuVernay offered him the part after the read,
