Helping Friends Cope with the Holidays with Dr. Brady!

    in Friends

Helping yourself and friends cope with the holidays with Dr. Jonathan Brady:

Thinking that holidays have to be inherently stressful and, therefore, have to be coped with is negative. Time to change your perspective.
Overcome the images of the media defining your holidays for you, your family and friends.
If your own family is an issue for you or a friend, create a new holiday ritual.
Helping friends – the idea of holiday is about belonging. Let your friends know they belong.

See these holidays not as an obligation but as an opportunity – feeling grateful, setting up your spiritual traditions, and being thankful. Take every opportunity to re-visit how you can change your thinking around the holidays. By viewing this time as an opportunity to grow with your traditions, keeps them alive and fresh.

And remember... a great friend starts with you!

Mark Venturini, author of "Whispers From Forbidden Earth"

    in Books

Two lives, two worlds, bound together by one accident.
When the young elf Strum first heard the whispers, some on Eversong called it a gift. After all, he is the first of the Iunctus Unus (United Ones) born in centuries. But the whispers are from a bizarre land called Chicago where twelve-year-old Jason Snider lies comatose in a hospital after a terrible accident, an accident that binds the two lives together. If Jason dies, Strum dies.

Forcing open the long-locked portal throws Strum and a pintsize baby dragon into the terrifying world of Chicago. Worse, Her Royal Pain torches the hospital lobby and escapes before Strum can revive Jason.

Strum must find the lost dragon and heal Jason before he can hope to return home. He teams up with a street-smart girl who has her own painful ties to Jason, and the battle is on. For not only is all Chicago chasing them, so are evil mages banished to Earth centuries before. Strum is their chance to return and conquer Eversong. He must stop them, even if it means forfeiting his chance to go home--or worse, his life.

Mark Venturini’s short fiction and flash fiction has appeared in various print and electronic magazines over the years. He founded the Pittsburgh East Scribes critique group in 2010 with the aim of helping aspiring writers pursue their dream of publication. The group has flourished beyond his wildest dreams.

Inner Voice Intuit Welcomes Tarot Illuminati by Erik Dunne

    in Spirituality

Erik began his Tarot journey over 25 years ago after wandering into a small metaphysical shop, supposedly by chance, but we know Tarot doesn't work that way. The owner and Erik quickly became good friends. Soon after Erik was introduced to, and encouraged to pursue, a higher understanding of the Art of Tarot by his new found friend and mentor. Studying and reading with the Rider/Waite/Smith, the Aquarian and the Medieval Scapini gave him an introduction to the mysteries and unveiled the inner light of Tarot. As an artist, Erik's own vision of Truth and Illumination were soon being super imposed over the trad. mages. Inevitably his passion for art and tarot merged and inspiration tackled him. He began his tarot creation with the Queen of Swords, trusting the Process he  allowed the Queen to lead. Eric has retraced the footsteps of legendary Kings and Queens, ridden camels across the dunes of Persia and galloped heavy steeds through fields of gold. His diverse life experiences are matched only by his opulent imagination, both of which are apparent in his artful creation of a cast of rich characters and fantastical realms. Although a classically trained artist under the tutelage of his parents, both skilled artisans in their own right, his choice of medium is digital, where he has allowed his passion for costume design and his roots in theater to lend their resounding voice to each and every card of the Tarot Illuminati.
