May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor
As a gazillion other Americans this past weekend, Chris saw the blockbuster hit The Hunger Games. (You didn't really think we'd let an episode of The Geek Show go by & not review it, did you?) What's more interesting about the movie is the amount of backlash (uninformed?) on Twitter & the web in general as to the ethnicity of Rue, Thresh, & Cinna. In the book, Rue is described as having dark skin, yet people seem to be surprised of the character in the movie being black. So what's the fuss?
Also, the 4th annual Shorty Awards is coming up. What the heck is a Shorty? Tune in to find out as Chris runs down the list of nominees & winners (& an explanation).
All this plus Hard News, four new songs off Macy Gray's new album Covered, & much more!
