Listen, some of us who are fans could give you the background of Lynne Fiddmont in our SLEEP - because it's just so cool! Lynne was raised in St. Louis and had QUITE the musical family - Aunts, Uncles, Cousin Leon, Brother Keith. Lynne didn't realize the gift that SHE had until she saw "The Wiz" at 15 with her Mom. Something awakened in her and she decided to be fearless. She got a role in "Our Town" that year - and she actually won the part of DOROTHY in "The Wiz" soon afterwards! And NO ONE was more surprised than Lynne when she received a standing ovation when she sang "Home." Because she didn't realize that she could SING :) Life wasn't without challenges but our guest ROSE to them - Drake University, Boston U (public relations), singing in Boston Commons - where she was offered a full scholarship to Berklee by a Professor - then onwards to Los Angeles. A sight-unseen gig with the Crusaders, Bill Withers, Lou Rawls, Stevie Wonder, George Duke - Lynne Fiddmont has seen the world because of THAT voice.
The wonderful thing about Lynne's journey? Her friendships. One of the strong bonds: Walter Beasley. California born Walter has been a favorite of many for a long time - Lynne's included in the WIDE circle. Saxophonist, Singer, Composer, Producer, Professor (Berklee!) and mentor for grateful students all over the world. Our friend has been beloved in our Baltimore/DC region for quite some time - and he is returning in the next several days! Lynne will be a part of the festivities, too -- and that is exactly why we're having this reunion on 9/2! Walter has his own series of shows at Blues Alley in Washington. But Lynne joins him at Ram's Head in Annapolis during the first weekend of September.

WEST INDIES CRICKET IN CRISIS...Is it the end of an era?
With special Guest Ivor Henry
Introduced by Ben Manning
Manning was professionally coached as a child until a back accident meant he could not persue the game, however - he has commentated (as a collector and devotee of the game) with the BBC and for Somerset county cricket club's radio commentary - some of which can be found on youtube. The Murali Kartik incident in 2012 achieved 13,000 listens on youtube. His proudest moment was to be coached by Norman Cowans and the late Wilf Slack (England cricketers of the early eighties ) as a child, but as an adult his proudest moment was when he attended the memorial service of the late Christopher Martin Jenkins - "CMJ" - at St Pauls Cathedral in 2013.

I have suffered from anxiety ever since I can remember. Social anxiety, incesant, debilitating anxiety. I called it by by different names; addiction, sensitivity, artist, all trying to explain, define, understand, and diagnose why life why always so hard for me. I self-medicated, using pot, food, sex, love, TV, etc. Now, as I become aware of the true nature of my struggles, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
On today's show, let's discuss this little bugger and the ways we try to quiet that voice in our heads, the one that says we can't do anything, shouldn't do anything, aren't good enough to do anything, and do everything wrong. If you suffer from depression and anxiety, this is the episode for you.
Today is Free for All Friday where we look at the news of the day. We'll continue to share with you Naghmeh Abedini's personal testimony about how her husband Saeed used their wedding for an evangelistic outreach.
We'll also talk about the latest with Ebola and we'll share with you a little bit about some pastors in Michigan who are standing up against the militant homosexual lobby.
Two years ago a friend of mine asked me to say some emcee rhymes
So I said this rhyme I’m about to say, the rhyme was def and it went this way:
Took a test to become an emcee, and Orange Krush became amazed at me
So Larry put me inside his Cadillac, the chauffeur drove off and we never came back
Dave cut the record down to the bone, and now they got me rockin on the microphone…”
“You’re a five dollar boy and I’m a million dollar man
You’re a sucker emcee and you’re my fan
You try to bite rhymes, all lines are mine, you’re a sucker emcee in a pair of Calvin Kleins
Coming from the wackest part of town, trying to rap but you can’t get down
You don’t even know your English, your verbs or noun
You’re just a sucker emcee, you sad faced clown…

Most often we equate the Christ with the historical Jesus of the bible. However, the Christ definition includes all of creation, not just Jesus of Nazareth from the bible. Having the mind of Christ, the historical Jesus witnessed only to the truth of what we all are, children of the One Source of Life. This recognition of the truth of what we are is often referred to as Christ consciousness.
Today, with Eloisa Ramos and Lessons 271 to 280 of A Course in Miracles, we explore the Christ definition and our identity in Christ. ACIM says,
Christ “is the Self we share, uniting us with one another, and with God as well. He is the Thought which still abides within the Mind that is His Source. He has not left his Holy home, nor lost the innocence in which He was created. He abides unchanged forever in the Mind of God.”
We seek to connect to the reality of the Christ within us which is “Home of the Holy Spirit..” and “the only part of you that has reality in truth. The rest is dreams.”
We ask to see Christ’s face that we may see a world forgiven and have peace come to every Son of God.
