Do you remember that famous trial in which Oprah and Howard Lyman were sued by the cattlemen of Texas? In 1996, when Howard Lyman warned America on The Oprah Winfrey Show that Mad Cow Disease was coming to America, offended cattlemen sued him and Oprah both. Not only were Lyman and Oprah vindicated in court, but events have proved many of Lyman's predictions absolutely right. Mad Cow Disease has come to America.
Howard F. Lyman is the Mad Cowboy. He is a 4th generation family farmer (and vegan) from Montana. After 20 years of operating a feed lot, he sold his ranch and started working for farmers in financial trouble. He was a lobbyist in Washington, and ran for Congress in 1982. He is the former Director of the "Beyond Beef Campaign" & the Humane Society of the US, "Eating With Conscience" Campaign; past President of both the International Vegetarian Union, and Earth Save International, and is currently President of Voice for a Viable Future.

Life happens yet many of us get up, put a smile on our face and try to move forward.
This can be both beneficial and detrimental to our mental health. It is beneficial because you know that I am not an advocate of wallowing in your problems. I am a firm believer in lifting yourself by your boot straps and moving your feet forward. However, as the guest on our Author Spotlight segment, Lyman Montgomery, points out, wearing that mask of happiness when things are falling apart came be harmful.
Join us on this episode of The LaKesha Womack Show as Lyman shares his personal story of hiding behind his mask, what he did to break free and how you can break free also.
Lyman is the author of Shatter Masks, The Seven Masks We Wear. Buy the book at http://LymanMontgomery.com
