Today, I am on location in Las Vegas Nevada having my flag flown at the Clark County Museum. I am being hosted by Mark P. Hall-Patton: Administrator, Clark County Museum system.
This is the same flag that has flown over Cheyenne high school in North Las Vegas where my son Robert teaches English.
It is honor and privilege to do a show with a gentleman that I have seen on TV (“Pawn Stars” and “American Restoration”, take the time out of his busy schedule to both hoist my flag and then talk about his adventures as a museum administer.
Mark Hall-Patton is the Museums Administrator for the Clark County museum system, where he oversees the Clark County Museum, the Howard W. Cannon Aviation Museum, and the Searchlight History Museum. He has been with Clark County for nineteen years, and was previously the Director of the San Luis Obispo County Historical Museum in California.
He is a MAP surveyor for the American Association of Museums. He has authored two books, Memories of the Land (a place names dictionary of San Luis Obispo County, California) and Asphalt Memories (a street names dictionary of the Vegas valley). He has written over 400 published articles, and has written and produced 48 local history videos. In 2009, he hosted a live interview program on C4 television in the Vegas valley, and is regularly seen on the History Channel’s Pawn Stars as a visiting expert. He has also appeared on American Restoration and Mysteries at the Museum.
In addition to the Nevada Museums Association, where he served as President from 2000 to 2002 and 2008-2010, and has previously served on the California Association of Museums and Western Museums Association boards. He is a member of the Board of the Nevada Test Site Historical Foundation, and the Nevada Aerospace Hall of Fame.

Monique was born in San Luis Obispo, California on November 4th in the year of the Snake.
At the age of three she became obsessed with ballerinas and begged her parents for dance lessons. Naturally they gave her what she wanted - spoiled brat that she is. They even gave her a bonus - a little sister, Marnay. Life was good, ballet classes and her very own doll - er, sister. But then things changed... Dance recital. With an audience...
From that moment on Monique was hooked and like any addict she needed more. More ballet. Then tap, then jazz. More recitals and more costumes and more applause. But it still wasn’t enough.
At the age of nine she started mainlining theater. Drama-rama, Baby! Monique did all the recitals and plays and talent contests that she could. Monique's poor family could hardly keep up with her, so after many years they finally staged (forgive the pun) an intervention. AKA: high school.
For a time in her teen years, Monique managed to put aside her addiction for more “normal” pursuits - boys, rebelling against authority, boys - that sort of thing. Oh, did we mention boys?
After high school, Monique attended Alan Hancock College (great theater dept.). Big Mistake. She thought she could just take a few theater and dance classes while she figured out what to do with her life. What Monique figured out was that acting was her life.
So the only thing left to do was pack up her bags, move to Hollywood and be a big star! Or as it turns out, move to Los Angeles, study acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, go on lots of auditions, work a lot of 16 hour days and become a little bitty star. For now...
Stay tuned as the drama continues to unfold!

Hey Kids! On the show tonight, our featured guest is Venezuela native, Hollywood sitcom writer and mastermind behind the brand spanking new pill-popping online comedy series “Beverly Pills”, Luis Bustamante. (www.beverlypillstheseries.com)
Our Shitz and Giggles (or Crap That Makes You Laugh) segment unravels one of the mysteries of the ages...“The Real Reasons Why Women Fake Orgasms”. So don’t be so quick to say, “I’ll have what she’s having.”
Our sexy, sizzling featured guest, Luis Bustamante grew up in Venezuela with an unhealthy fascination for sitcoms, which lead him to make the safest career choice of all: becoming a Hollywood TV Writer! By the age of 18, Luis packed his bags and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of becoming a comedic ?lmmaker. After a few years, some short ?lms and a couple of art degrees, he decided to pursue his largest undertaking of all: making an independent comedy series to give the world a much needed laugh in the medium of serialized storytelling, and thus “Beverly Pills” was born.
This week’s “JUST THE TIP” segment gives us all a moment to self-reflect as we delve into “The Top 10 Things People Often Want to Change About Themselves”. And we end our visit with Luis Bustamante and “Beverly Pills - The Series” on a musical high note with Huey Lewis and The News singing “I Wanna New Drug.” Tune in, turn on, pass out. Rinse and repeat.
This episode is dedicated to the ecclectic universe of popular culture. Some of it will be about some of the greatest jazz ever. The rest will be about whatever you and Jeff and I come up with. We'll go down that road together this Wednesday night at 6:00 pm Mountain Standard. You are quite welcome to take over the show as long as it would pass Johnny Carson's censors. BTW, Chaplain Batman will be digging into his Jazz Collection for some of the best tracks ever.

Rory Costello is a member of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR). He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
Rory has written many biographies of major-leaguers and other baseball figures for SABR's BioProject website.
He has a lot of interests when it comes to choosing his subjects, but players from Latin American balla and the Caribbean are right up there at the top.
SABR members have a variety of interests, and this is reflected in the diversity of its research committees. There are more than two dozen groups devoted to the study of a specific area related to the game — from Baseball and the Arts to Statistical Analysis to the Deadball Era to Women in Baseball. In addition, many SABR members meet formally and informally in regional chapters throughout the year and hundreds come together for the annual national convention, the organization's premier event. These meetings often include panel discussions with former major league players and research presentations by members. Oct 15, 1986: N.Y. Mets (7) at Houston (6), 16 inn.
