Lucy Taylor joins us to chat about her latest book "Fatal Journeys" and "A Respite for the Dead". She was born in Richmond, VA, and never really got the South out of her system, as evidenced by the flavor of Southern Gothic in many of her works. She’s published seven novels, including NAILED, SAVING SOULS, and LEFT TO DIE (under the pseudonym Taylor Kincaid), and over 100 short stories.
FATAL JOURNEYS is a collection of stories about travelers who venture into regions both macabre and seductive, on the planet and within the psyche. Featuring eleven stories, including the previously unpublished “Summerland”, “The High and Mighty and Me”, “Soul Eaters”, the novella “How Real Men Die” and an introduction by acclaimed horror author Jack Ketchum, who writes: “…there are places you really shouldn’t go. Places that are dangerous to the heart, mind, and body. And these are the journeys she’s taking you on here. Some very far away geographically. Some much closer to home.… To Iceland where a wandering spirit exacts sorrowful, endless vengeance. To the back roads of Mississippi on the Fourth of July in search of a child-killer…To Thailand to kill your best friend.… So many dangerous places to go.” Visit her website at: www.lucytaylor.us

This book is a look inside the head of the man who wore the uniform.

A fascinating true story fused into an unforgettable fiction novel about vulnerability, courage and the art of making a living in the sex trade...
Back in the 90’s, the corrupt post-Soviet Ukraine with its faltering economy, is thrown into a devastating depression. Times are hard.
Three naïve young sisters – Natalia, Lena and Julia - dream of a better life, and weigh their options: do they stay and struggle like their parents, or join scores of their compatriots in the sex trade in glittering western European cities, who earn in a night what they’d take several months to earn at home?
For sensible, resilient and calculating Lena and Natalia, the transition to the underworld of Luxembourg’s deceptive champagne bars is eye-opening, but smooth. But for fragile, brittle Julia, haunted by a childhood assault, the change is more than just vocational. Struggling to adapt, she turns to alcohol and drugs, exposing herself to increasing danger and depravity; and, ultimately, betrayal, when a deceitful client, who claims to love her, drugs her and cleans her out.
Despite her sisters’ best efforts to intervene, she finds herself in Istanbul – culturally a world apart – in an attempt to make back the money and self-respect she’s lost. Vulnerable without the protection of Luxembourg’s champagne bars, she descends into a hell of drugs and high-risk sex until, at the novel’s terrible climax, a kidnapping, brutal assault and one-sided justice system lead to her imprisonment and a threat of deportation.
How will Natalia and Lena save Julia?

Author Rich Marcello joins me this week to talk about his books. We will focus on his recently released: The Big Wide Calm.
Paige is a rock star. The world just doesn’t know it yet. She’s got the charisma, the drive, and, of course, the mega-musical skills. All she needs is to make her debut album, one that will change the world, inspire revolutions—and make her galactically famous along the way.
When John Bustin, a former semi-famous singer/songwriter offers to record Paige’s album for free, it feels like destiny, like the next step on her way to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Guitar in hand, Paige sets off to John’s recording compound, ready to unfold her future.
But the ever-elusive John, with his mysterious history, and Paige, a big dreamer but naïve about her footing in life, clash as much as they coalesce. Before they can change the world through Paige’s music, the improbable duo must learn to work together.
A coming of age story and retrospective, The Big Wide Calm focuses on human nature and the complexities of love through the eyes of young and old on the journey of creating the perfect album.

A MURDER COUNTRY:
The nineteenth century looms just a few years away, bringing with it the belief in progress and a new world. But for Josiah Fuller, William Corvin, and the Rider in the Appalachian backwoods and small towns of the late nineteenth century, there is nothing but a world where bloodshed is paid for in blood, and violence is the ultimate law of the land.
When seventeen-year-old Josiah Fuller comes home to find his parents hanged and mutilated and the family house burned to the ground, he sets off to find the man responsible for their murders and avenge their deaths. His journey takes him through new towns and wildernesses he has not seen before. He meets people who show him the realities of living in a violent world, forcing Josiah to decide what is most important to him: vengeance or grace.
Years after running away from home as a young boy, William Corvin returns with his new bride to take over the family's coal mining operation. Though he is haunted by the violence of his past, he sets out to live a peaceful life and start a family there. However, Corvin's hopes of peace are challenged when a horrible act of violence causes him to revert back to the man he once was.
After being visited by an angel in a dream years earlier, the Rider has become a man with violence in his blood, believing himself to be appointed by God to collect the souls of sinners. He travels around on his horse, killing whoever he feels is deserving of God's wrath and vengeance. These three men move along their own individual paths, their stories intersecting with one another, continually searching for an understanding of the violent world in which they live and their own actions within that world.
Chris Sternal - Co-Founder of MFC - MyFantasyCommish.com
MFC, and our podcast My Fantasy Commish, were created to give sports fans a fresh persepective on fantasy sports. ESPN, NFL Network, and all the other so called "experts" rarely get it right. I have been playing fantasy sports for over 10 years and have experience with football, basketball, baseball and hockey. I'm a strong believer that fantasy football requires the least amount of skill, a great amount of luck, and that prognostication and coverage have been watered down over the past few years because of the amount of resources available to players.
Jace Cosentino- My Fantasy Commish Co-Founder
I'm a die-hard Chicago Bears fan, first and foremost; the Blackhawks follow, trailed closely by the Bulls. I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in psychology (no, I don't read minds). I have been playing fantasy sports for 10 years and running leagues for just as long. I'm an all around sports fan and am always interested in learning new sports (became a huge Premier League fan 3 years ago). Since my glory days of playing high school sports are gone, you can usually spot me watching a game, doing something athletic, or trying something new. In the narcissistic driven culture of pro sports, I'm still a huge believer and fan of, "the love of the game."
We plan to bring our viewers the latest and most in depth news to help with their fantasy basketball teams. Our goal is offer a cohesive and fun show that encourages visitors to become regulars, and our regulars to become loyal listener’s. We plan to spend our time scouring over websites, injuries, rankings and many other informational sources before we present them to you on our show. We will bring on occasional guest speakers to give a different perspective and voice to listen to. Our show is only an hour, but we encourage our audience to interact with us as much as possible the rest of the week. Those options include our blogs, our Twitters or any other forms of social media that you use. Mike brings his passion of sports and his plethora of knowledge that began back in ’72. I bring a younger voice that dates back to ’93; however my knowledge of sports goes beyond my young age. Our partnership on this show is diverse through age, location, favorite sports teams and so on. This gives us multiple angles to connect with our listeners. We feel that our differences makes up our biggest strength as we will both be able to feed off each other’s knowledge and learn something new everyday.
Some say he's a serial killer. Others, a vigilante doing what police can't or won't do. What's certain is that Dean Drayhart, a paraplegic, will soon sit on death row for killing hit-and-run drivers in Los Angeles. But not if the Mexican Mafia gets hold of him first. Somewhere, Dean's trained companion monkey Sid and girlfriend Cinda are outrunning the law in a fast '98 Trans Am. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department wants Sid, dead or alive. Dean may be broken in body but his fierce spirit is determined to protect Sid and Cinda in the most creative ways imaginable. Hardboiled, funny, relentless, and unexpectedly tender-hearted, Bite Harder delivers riotous action all the way to a bombshell climax that could only have been written by Anonymous-9, the self-declared mad scientist of crime fiction.
Praise for Bite Harder
"Brilliantly, brutally funny, so real you can taste it. Starring Sid, the cutest serial-killing helper monkey in all fiction." — Douglas Lindsay, author of the Barney Thomson novels
"Bite Harder is part screwball comedy, part killer crime story entirely unlike anything else out there. It is unique and vicious and bloody funny but what kept me turning pages deep into the night was its heart. I loved Hard Bite, and Bite Harder is even better, stronger, wilder." — Josh Stallings, Beautiful, Naked & Dead
"Few books have a killer monkey, and fewer still have a writer as funny, incisive, and down-and-dirty brilliant as Anonymous-9." — Benjamin Whitmer, Cry Father
