During the month of November we are learning all about the building blocks to good health from Certified Integrative Nutrition Coach, Penny Muckleroy.
This week we will be talking about the importance of the type of fuel we use to power our bodies as well as hydration.
On today’s show we will focus on why we should eat a low glycemic diet.
Low Carb diets are well known for being quite helpful to lose weight, especially if you have your weight around your middle, and are insulin resistant, prediabetic or Type 2 Diabetic. So, you went on a low carb diet and perhaps after losing some good initial pounds, now nothing seems to be budging. Why not?
Join the physicians as Arizona Integrative Medical Solutions for a discussion on what could possibly be the blocks to losing weight following a low carb diet.

Three generations of drivers in one family is not an everyday thing in motorsports. It is with great pleasure to have nice guy number one on the show this week. Out of the hills of Schuylkill County PA. Mr. Colt Harris. A steady campaigner at Big Diamond Speedway in the modified division, Colt’s family has a long history in stock car racing. We will catch up on all of that along with what Colt has planned for the upcoming season.
Nice guy number two has the repetition as being old school. Some would say along with being a nice guy he is also crazy. LD&D met this guy last summer as he towed his USAC AMSOIL Non-Wing Sprint Car into PA on a open trailer all the way from Iowa. Also known as the "Colfax Comet" we are looking forward to having Mr. Robert Bell on the show. Robert is the 2015 Speedway Illustrated Ken Schrader Real Racer of the Year Award winner and we know there is a story behind that.
Low Down and Dirty is Living on Tulsa Time these days. With all eyes on Tulsa, Oklahoma for this past weekend’s Shootout and next week’s Chili Bowl our show will be full of results and previews of Tulsa.
Our local guys did great this past weekend at the Shootout and we have two of them on the show to talk about it. Eddie Strada and James Morris represented PA in a big way and we will hear about the racing and there chase for the Golden Driller Trophy.
Also in the chase for a Golden Driller next week as the Chili Bowl event takes center stage in Tulsa is Pennsylvania standout Tyler Brehm. He will be in the Steve Buckwalter prepared midget for his assault on one of the biggest races of the year.
The anticipated opening of the “New and Improved” Susquehanna Speedway is just around the corner. Beginning with a Saturday, March 26 opener of Super Sportsman, forty-one races are on the schedule that will run through the season-ending Final Showdown for 410 Sprints in early November. Kolten Gouse the new general manager of Susquehanna Speedway will be on the show to tell us all about what is coming up this season.
We are very pleased to have Arynne Moody on the show. The newly crowned Ms Motorsports 2016 has officially attended her first event in her new capacity and we are eager to hear all about it. Tune in and get to know Arynne and hear what she has planned as Ms Motorsports.
And here ya go another new thing happening this coming season. The Lanco's Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway will be hosting a USAC midget show co-sanctioned with ARDC. On August 16th the small town of Newmanstown, PA will host the mighty midgets, surely a show not to be missed. Barry Angstadt will be calling in to tell us how this all came about.
Popular Diet Plans
It seems the biggest current craze is eating low carbs. Basically, you eat a lot of protein and any kind of fats, but you drastically limit your carbohydrate intake.
An Analysis Of Low Carbohydrate Diets!
This article will focus on the inherent problems of all carb reduction diets, the premises discussed apply to all forms of carb reduction diets so this applies to the NHE, Atkins diet, CKD, TKD and all other carb reduction plans...
Depending on your plan, carbs might be restricted to 50 grams or less per day. Of course to make it more confusing, carbs are subcategorized into specific types of carbs. You have sugars and starches and they're the net carbs. There are also fibers and a newly-concocted chemical called sugar alcohol. That's the ingredient glycerin, which is in your low-carb, high-protein bars that keeps the bar moist instead of being a sawdust consistency.
Net carbs have a tendency to raise your blood sugar levels so you're not burning fat as efficiently. If you're following a low-carb plan, net carbs should be avoided. Unlike sugars and simple starches, proteins and fats do not raise the blood sugar levels and so you have the freedom to eat more of those. (Can you say hamburgers wrapped in lettuce instead of setting on a bun?)
We will be LIVE at the shop of Ryan Taylor 410 Sprint Car ace out of Huffs Church, PA. Ryan is a weekly competitor at the Port Royal speedway with his sharp looking #20. He released some big news last week as he announced he will be driving weekly at Williams Grove Speedway for a new team out of the Harrisburg PA area.
Ryan will be driving for a team being put together by Don Reem. Don is the owner of two successful auto care businesses in the Harrisburg, PA area. He operates Don’s Performance Corner and is expanding his business into Sprint Cars. Don’s Performance is a J&J Chassis dealer. We hope to have Don on the show also.
