One late spring evening in 2010, Shannan Gilbert, after running through the oceanfront community of Oak Beach screaming for her life, went missing. No one who had heard of her disappearance thought much about what had happened to the twenty-four-year-old: she was a Craigslist prostitute who had been fleeing a scene—of what, no one could be sure. The Suffolk County Police, too, seemed to have paid little attention—until seven months later, when an unexpected discovery in a bramble alongside a nearby highway turned up four bodies, all evenly spaced, all wrapped in burlap. But none of them Shannan's.
There was Maureen Brainard-Barnes, last seen at Penn Station in Manhattan three years earlier, and Melissa Barthelemy, last seen in the Bronx in 2009. There was Megan Waterman, last seen leaving a hotel in Hauppage, Long Island, just a month after Shannan's disappearance in 2010, and Amber Lynn Costello, last seen leaving a house in West Babylon a few months later that same year. Like Shannan, all four women were petite and in their twenties, they all came from out of town to work as escorts, and they all advertised on Craigslist and its competitor, Backpage.
Lost Girls is a portrait not just of five women, but of unsolved murder in an idyllic part of America, of the underside of the Internet, and of the secrets we keep without admitting to ourselves that we keep them. LOST GIRLS-AN UNSOLVED AMERICAN MYSTERY-Robert Kolker
Chelsea King was a popular high school senior, an outstanding achiever determined to make a difference. Amber Dubois loved books and poured her heart into the animals she cared for. Treasured by their families and friends, both girls disappeared in San Diego County, just eight miles and one year apart. The community's desperate search led authorities to John Albert Gardner III, a brutal predator hiding in plain sight. Now Pulitzer-nominated author Caitlin Rother delivers an incisive, heartbreaking true-life thriller that touches our deepest fears. LOST GIRLS-Caitlin Rother

I’m not sure how it happened, but sometime after the birth of my son I lost the ability to talk dirty in bed. I could do it before. In the heat of passion, I could say things that wouldn’t be out of place in a Sharon Stone movie.
Then suddenly, the best I could muster was, “Faster, slower, a little to the left, down a bit, there you go.” When it came to really titillating pillow talk, I drew a blank.
I was bewildered. My husband was puzzled and, I think, a little hurt. What had happened to his R-rated woman?
It was connected to having a baby, I knew. But the change surprised me. I’d figured I wouldn’t have a problem separating daytime “Mom” from nighttime “Vixen.”
But as my son’s second birthday approached, I had to admit that I’d underestimated the muzzling effect of motherhood. I needed some help.
Sun God Sacred Secrets: The Archaeology, Art & Science of Altered States of Consciousness
This thought-provoking book, with an investigative pulse, reveals unique archaeological discoveries shared by four different Sun god religions spanning five millennia of human history. Your curiosity will be piqued and you will assuredly learn much about pyramid archaeology, and the sciences and esoteric subjects involved in humans attaining altered states of consciousness.
If you meditate, pursue a spiritual path, or suffer death anxiety, and wish to experience transcendental states of consciousness to help eliminate your suffering, then you need to read this book. For those seeking objective answers to pyramid archaeology´s enigmas and their shared archaeological fingerprint, I hope you enjoy reading about it here. Carlton Brown was born in 1965 in Northshields (UK) and immigrated with his family to New Zealand in 1972. He is a veterinarian, biotech entrepreneur, vaccine innovator, hobby archaeologist and researcher, and author. He actively pursues travel, outdoors sports and activities, meditation, and, more recently, the spiritual aspects of his life.
His lifetime fascination with pyramid archaeology and cultures, lost civilizations and mankind´s real history through the Holocene period is matched by his researches into the science and art of altered states of consciousness. During the writing of this book, Carlton lived in Guatemala, overlooking the beautiful and inspiring Lake Atitlan in the heartland of the ancient Maya.

I lost both parents to cancer at 22 and 27. Let's talk about stuff that's hard, ways you can move forward in your life and how to get back to a happier place. My intention is to connect those of us who have lost our mothers, our fathers or both parents, at any age, through art, writing, and focusing on the positive.
In this episode, I'll be talking about what it means to become present and parent yourself.
