On more than one occasion President Obama recognized the importance of Islam in America’s history. In February of this year he said, "Islam has been woven into the fabric of our country since its founding." Earlier in his presidency President Obama said, "I also know that Islam has always been a part of America’s story,”
This Memorial Sunday (May 24, 2015) will discuss the role that Muslim Veterans have fulfilled dating back to the American Revolution and every war since then. After having me on his show last night I think it's only fitting to have him as a special guest on my show. As myself and Lollie Saria give it another go for it being our second official show. Join us while we "debunk" lingo used in the 1960s and compare them with what we use now. We'll also be leading off the show primarily with Female and Male insecurities. It shall be interesting...

This week, I'd like to talk about sex, and how the topic of sex isnt being discussed as broadly as some might hope. I'm talking about the disabled.
All too often, when the topic of sex, relationships, etc comes up, people often don't bring up people who are disabled, and disabled in many ways.
We need to broaden the discussion, and include as many people as possible, and not just assume that one or more portions of our population, can't
have, isn't interested or doesn't think about sex. We need to change this type of ignorant behavior and start including everyone in the discussion.
So let's enhance the discussion. This week. "On-Air".

A los 50 días de la Pascua, los judíos celebraban la fiesta de las siete semanas (Ex 34:22), que en sus orígenes tenía carácter agrícola. Por lo tanto, en el día de Pentecostés también se celebra la

Mónica Méndez, PhD, just began her tenure as the Executive Director of Dress for Success Pittsburgh after moving from Orlando, Florida, where she was the co-Founder and CEO of the House of Mentoring and Empowerment (HOME), an organization advocating for young survivors of human trafficking. Passionate about empowering women and bringing the topic of gendered violence to the public sphere, she brings twelve years of experience in program creation and implementation, training and advocacy to her new endeavor. She has published and presented her work in both national and international forums and in front of a wide variety of audiences.
Dr. Méndez brings her experience, background and accomplishments to Dress for Success Pittsburgh to advance the economic empowerment of women. Her goal is to make Pittsburgh a stronger, healthier community by promoting the financial and social empowerment that women need in order to break the cycle of poverty.
The mission of Dress for Success Pittsburgh is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and career development tools to help women thrive in work and life. Founded in 2005, Dress for Success Pittsburgh was established to empower women to become self-sufficient and exit poverty, while also empowering women who suffered a temporary crisis and needed the short-term support to get back into the workplace. Our clients may be single parents, divorcees, low income, recovering from economic crisis, survivors of domestic abuse, veterans, re-entering homemakers, or previously incarcerated.
