I was a guest on Sirius XM's NBA show today, which was co-hosted by former Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins.
Turning the tables, I opened the segment -- even though I was the interviewee -- by asking Hollins why he wasn't in Detroit taking command of the Pistons after the firing of Maurice Cheeks.
Hollins came right out and said he is interested in the job, but that nobody from Detroit had reached out to contact him.
Hollins also revealed that he expects his old team to make a cost-cutting move before the deadline, because certain players are going to achieve bonus money that will move the Grizzlies above the luxury tax threshold.
Give a listen to what was quite the newsy interview.

Lionel of Lionel Media joins us for a two part interview. In the first part we'll cover: what makes our current financial system tick in the U.S. and in our 2nd part we'll cover current events, government and social ills.
He’s self-described as a renaissance lawyer and media legal analyst, a news decoder and essayist. An author, blogger, pioneer podcaster and (out)spoken word performer. He’s a flatpicker and roots practitioner and celebrates before the altar of the immaculate twang of America’s music: bluegrass. He’s a political atheist and has a black-belt in realpolitik. He eschews left-right paradigms and rejects whole cloth run-of-the mill trite and usual political analysis through the media’s patented worldview, spectrum and prism. He’s a practicing plant-based vegan and as John Pilger suggested, never believes anything until it’s officially denied. Lionel is a practicing lawyer, admitted in Florida and New York as well as the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States and enjoys myriad practice areas that involve First Amendment, privacy and constitutional law issues and implications.
