Here it is. I need your input on whether our LOVE AND RELATIONSHIPS group should provide a more open forum for discussions on alternative lifestyles....(lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, and transgender)
In the past, these types of discussions brought negative comments by non-supporting judgmental folks. So to preserve the integrity of the group and protect those that could be insulted, offended or hurt, I decided to no longer allow those types of topics.
But I've always wished that we could TRUST that we could have a healthy conversation about it. I ain't blind to what's going on in society. I don't live under a rock. Hell, if you're a woman and you want to talk about the women you've loved before....or if you're a guy who prefers other guys.....how far can we take a discussion like that without some ignorant so-and-so coming through saying something cruel?
And not to mention the Bible scriptures that come in to play, mostly out of context, and the battles over interpretation. It just gets real messy when we've gone there before.
If anyone wants to voice their opinion on this, please do so. I'd like to talk to you. My door is always open and I'm willing to hear you
Call (347) 237-5342 to listen and press "1" if you'd like to join the discussion live on the air.

Nina Bingham comes back to Charlotte View with a show that will make you ponder on the role societal stigma has on the mental health in the LGBT community. By sharing her own story of acceptance and transformation (enlightment) Nina hopes to bring awareness on the need of a competent mental health program and professionals who understand the intricancies that the LGBT community has.
Special Guest: Nami James Nesterowicz who will share his story as a transgender
Nina will share her professional and personal opinion on areas such as:
Sexual orientation vs. gender orientation
Same-sex attraction. Can it be corrected or cured?
How do you know you are Gay? Are you born or made?
"Coming Out" the process, safety issues, best practice
Nami James will talk about areas such as:
what it means to be transgender? Transexual? Cross-dresser?
What is gender identity and gender expression?
Is being transgender a mental disorder?
Experiences of violence and victimization are frequent for LGBT individuals, and have long-lasting effects on the individual and the community. Personal, family, and social acceptance of sexual orientation and gender identity affects the mental health and personal safety of LGBT individuals.
Legal discrimination in access to health insurance, employment, housing, marriage, adoption, and retirement benefits. Lack of laws protecting against bullying. Lack of social programs for LGBT youth, adults, and elders. Shortage of health care providers competent in LGBT health

Please join Miss Catherine as she welcomes in a very special guest, Billy Grima.
Billy Grima is a singer/ songwriter living in the Caledon Hills of Ontario, Canada. Born in Blacktown, NSW Australia, Billy started writing at a very young age and was singing in a church choir by the age of 8 years old. At 15, Billy moved to Canada and settled in Toronto. Like classic singer/songwriters, Billy Joel, Jim Croce, James Taylor and Bob Dylan, life's daily realities and everyday events are a source of Billy's inspiration. His smooth and soulful sound has earned him comparisons to contemporaries Jason Mraz, Ed Sheeran, Jack Johnson and even Bruno Mars.
Billy has 3 albums to his credit: I'm Just Standing , A Little Piece Of Heaven and his latest, titled Sugar & Cream, produced and engineered by Pete Swann (Glass Tiger’s Alan Connely, Adrian and Justin Lifeson, sons of Rush’s Alex Lifeson.) Sugar & Cream features a tasty blend of pop, rock, soul and Americana, including the first single, “Pleasure To Have Met You.” The album is going for worldwide radio adds this spring.
"Writing a hook or humming a melody is medicine,” Grima says. Let Sugar & Cream be the prescription for your perfect playlist.
The chat room will be opened for questions and comments. Thanks for your support!

Today Randall and Stacy are back with Bible Study in Romans 5. As we continue our journey through the book of Romans today we'll see how faith brings peace and joy. We also look at the headlines of the day.
On the first Monday of every month at 3:30 pm Eastern time, from September through May, Dr. Ross Greene and four principals from schools in the U.S. and Canada cover a wide range of topics related to behaviorally challenging students and school discipline in general and Dr. Greene's Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) model in particular. You can call into the program to get your questions answered or submit them via email here.
