Baltimore and the twittershpere are currently in an uproar in response to the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody. People have taken to the streets upset with no justice upset with no justice being served. Tired of black bodies constantly being told that we have no value.
Media outlets are referring to the people involved in these acts of protest as "thugs" 'savages" everything accept for an opressed people who are crying out for justice and change.
Many have taken to condemning the "rioting" rather than adressing the reason for the rioting. Many are calling these protests as "Un-American"
Many Lgbtq people have dared open their mouth in opposition to the rioting in Baltimore, this simply will not do.
Join me as we spotlight every element of this hipocrisy and dismantle the foolish arguements that are being presented.
Join your host Elliott Skaggs with special guest Oberyn Kunning on "Queer Spirits: Empowering the Tribe" on discussing body image issues in gay culture. Many gay men feel they are objectified and/or marginalized both in their gay culture experience. Issues of body take on varying multi-sectional issues of age, race, size, objectification, and even gender expression. We escape a heteronormative mold often to encounter the homonormative one. This episode we will discuss these issues and more as they relate to gay male body issues.
I am your Host Elliott Skaggs, here is some info on my background:
Elliott is a former activist, academic, and community organizer. He earned his BA degree at Appalachian State University and did his senior thesis on Gay Socialization covering issues ranging from objectification, internalized homophobia, and building models of gay solidarity. He is also a former president and founder of a LGBT student organization at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.
Joining us today is our guest Oberyn Kunning:
Oberyn Kunning is an activist working along multiple intersections of organizing, including communities of size/Fatness, queerness, feminism, anti-racism, anti-colonialism, anti-Capitalist, and disability. They are a witch, partner, father, teacher, and co-founder, director, producer, and performer at the new queer-occult studio Drewary Lodge.

There are many things that Luci and Anthony agree on in the paranormal and about life itself but one of the major differences in their thinking has to do with the beginning of time. On one side Luci believes in the idea that the Universe and life itself was born out of the hands of God and on the other side, Anthony has a strong belief in the science of the Universe. So what are we to do? Well, let's have a friendly debate!!!
Join us on May 1st as Anthony and Luci bring forward points to argue their side of the coin and state their cases. You can join us as well and add to the debate with comments and questions.
Did we all begin from the Big Bang or did it all start with the Big God? Hmmm....let's get ready to rumble!!!!!
He, who opens a school door, closes a prison door ~ Denise Jones
DENISE was born and raised on Chicago’s west side; she was the oldest of seven children. At the tender age of twelve her mother introduced her to shooting heroin, which last over fifteen years. She dropped out of school in the fourth grade and vowed to never return and became a product of the streets.
DENISE journey involved poverty, incest, molestation, drug addiction and incarceration to sobriety, spiritual redemption and inner peace. “Deep insecurity and inferiority, drug addiction and role confusion tormented her for many years, and saying "I often wondered if I were human."
In spite of all these obstacles, Denise grabbed hold to a seed of hope. Denise accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in 1986, and he altered the very course of her life. She accepted her calling as a Deliverance Minister in God’s True Holiness. Her belief system and faith are based on the doctrine of The Lord Jesus Christ. However, she respects the rights of individuals to choose their own beliefs.
DENISE is a Deliverance Minister, Inspirational and Motivational speaker; she has been on a passionate mission to share with others how to break free from the prison within. Jeremiah Chapter 25 King James Version
The Prophet Gets a message from God, telling him to stand in the court of his House, and cry out to all the people in the cities of Judha. He is telling them that God says, that if they will repent and return to him, then He will repent from the judgment that he was going to pass on them, but if they do not ,then he will carry out his threat and destroy them. The Priest seize Jeremiah, and ask him why is preaching such things? and they tell him you will surely die, Jeremiah goes right on preaching what God told him to say.
Ephesians 2:8 & 9 For by grace you, have been saved through faith, and not of yourselfs; it is a gift from God.

The LGBT world has evolved so much over the past few years with topics such as gay marriage, transgender talks, human rights, adoption and overall acceptance that we are all one. On the heels of the interview with Diane Sawyer, Bruce Jenner publically came out as a transgender woman gaining over 30 million viewers. Daytime's "The Bold and the Beautiful" has taken on the transgender world by revealing in a shocking twist that a character is a transgender woman. Laverne Cox is leading the way with her story and Daytime Emmy win this weekend for "The T Word," a docu-series about the transgender community.
Tonight, I sit down with David O'Quinn, author of "Who I Am, What I Want," to talk about his new book about transgender love along with David's very own personal story and announcement regarding this very topic. Not only is this topic important to David, but I am lucky to call David a friend.
To buy David's book, be sure to click HERE and follow David on Twitter HERE.
Transgender awareness is in the news this week with Bruce Jenner's announcement that he is transitioning from male to female.
Tonight on Rated G Radio, "Trucker Patti" (Patti Spangler) returns to Rated G Radio to talk about transgender issues and why this is such an important conversation in the LGBT community.
Call in 323 657-1493 to ask a question or chime in!
