She will be discussing her son Joseph's life story, playing sports, CTE which led to years of depression and ultimately, his suicide. Joseph's brother Seth will join us, since they played sports all through their childhood together. She has tried to contact politicians, White House and Michelle Obama, with no one concerned or responding to her. She also wants to shed light on the responsibility of the NFL with the research started 20 years ago, to warn all parents of the dangers of concussions/head trauma and future effects, which the NFL denied for many years. Tonight's special guest is John Gerrard from Lineville, Alabama, a rape survivor who was sexually assaulted while in prep school. John grew up in New York City in a struggling lower-middle class Catholic family and spent his formative years in Brooklyn in what he describes as "typical dysfunctional tenement living." There was a lot of corporal punishment during his 12 years of Catholic education. The worse experiences occurred at Saint Francis Prep which culminated with his being first befriended, but then violated and raped, by Brother Michael Moran, the principal. "It was the most horrible experience in my life," John says. "I laid there in shock, drugged .." When he saw Brother Michael later he wanted to vomit. "I had an overwhelming sense of despair and powerlessness." In adulthood John floundered but eventually found a career as a New York City firefighter despite heavy drinking and drug use. "I drank and drugged to forget, and the only place I ever felt I belonged was in a burning building." In 1988 he sobered up, ".. after having near heart attacks, guns in my face, blackouts, paranoia, and a state of spiritual bankruptcy where death would have come as a welcomed friend." He goes on, "The next 27 years have been an odyssey of self-examination and spiritual awakening." Today he counsels addicts on a volunteer basis in his community. "I hope to help others with my story," John says, "and plan to use all my power as a citizen to pursue legislative and systemic changes to protect children from future abuse through speaking, writing, film, social and traditional media. I stand with all victims to change the personal narrative from one of victimization to survivorship and advocacy."

We have all survived something in life. Join us as Veronica Coney shares her story of survival.
I’m a devoted mother of 4 children and a license practical nurse of nearly 10 years and counting. My goal of becoming a Registered Nurse was interrupted when I became a patient myself. At the age of 31, was a stroke survivor. A week after giving birth to my beautiful baby daughter, I suffered the worst headache of my life. Why me? I didn’t have any significant health issues. No diabetes, no high blood pressure, nothing out of the ordinary. One thing nagged at me — I was in a toxic relationship and under a tremendous amount of stress. The day I got the headache, I had been very angry about a particular incident. After the stroke, I found myself searching for answers. Having suffered more than my fair share of sadness and grief over the years, I began to see how those feelings bubbled up and exploded when I got angry. I want to use those experiences to inspire you to always be conscious of what you’re thinking about. these last years, I have hosted an blog talk radio show for women uniting for change, became involved in community activism, and have become a passinate advocate for people with mental illness. Also a published author, and a big dreamer of we can do anything we put our mind to.

A few things to know about Tracy Randall.
Tracy Randall is a Grammy-nominated songwriter based in New York, New York. A man of God, Tracy is a gospel recording artist, cancer survivor, and motivational speaker dedicated to inspiring people through his music and words.
Creative, Talented and Charismatic are just a few words to describe this young force in the field of entertainment. Born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Tracy's music and entertainment career has spanned over fifteen plus years of hard work and determination. Following a call from God, his unique talent was that he never aspired to become a singer, composer or the music/film/sports management executive that he is today. He is constantly reinventing his musical franchise. He set out to becoming an electrical engineer, but as fate had it, Tracy Randall saw that there was another calling in-store for him instead and that was one word MUSIC. His vast love for music is very diverse. Influenced at an early age by the legendary genius of Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Peabo Bryson and Glen Jones just to name a few. Tracy took a “leap of faith” and followed the desires of his heart.
