One would think that Black Women who are Lesbians would be the last to discrimate, especially since we suffer discrimination for just being Black, for being a Black Woman and for being a Black Woman who is also a Lesbian. Discrimination within the Black Lesbian community if VERY much real and causes gaps and wedges in what should be a solid Sisterhood.
Join us as the Cast of Les' Talk and Members of NeoSoul Sistas of KC discuss discrimination within the Black Lesbian Community and discuss the upcoming documentary done by Nneka Onuorah!

Some people would rather die than speak in front a group of people. Yet it is important for Entrepreneurs to be able to communicate effectively about the product or services they offer to groups of people. I have been speaking in front of people since the age of three when I delivered my line in a church Tom Thumb Wedding. I guess I had a talent for public speaking, or at least I didn't let fear keep me from the spotlight. One of the things I enjoyed most about Pastoral Ministry was delivering the Sunday Morning Sermon and I trained church members in the fine art of sermon delivery In this episode I want to share with you a few things I believe can help you be an effictive public speaker.
In this episode you will:
Understand that fear is your friend;
Understand ways to emotionally prepare yourself to speak in public;
Understand how to use your Diaphragm effectively when speaking in public.

Some of the first ways we learn about relationship dynamics are observing the relationships we grew up seeing, like the ones of our parents or guardians. Many times, we tend to believe our parent’s relationships or the relationship we had with them should be the outline of what a relationship should be and often times we end up mirroring similar qualities in our own romantic relationships. After all, learning starts at home, right? While it’s the norm to hear that women have daddy issues and men have mommy issues that is not always the case. Both men and women can have issues with both parents instead of one over the other. Negative relationships with a man and his father can impact him greatly as do a woman and her mother. For example, if a man didn’t have his father around to teach him how to be a man or if he grew up in a household watching his father abuse his mom, he may think physical abuse is a way to show ‘love’. So the issue remains, if a woman or man has mommy or daddy issues---can that delay them from finding ‘the one’? Men, if you found out your lady or woman of interest showed signs of having mommy-daddy issues will you continue to pursue her? But, if you truly found ‘the one’ and they had mommy-daddy issues wouldn’t you overlook it? Realistically, we all come with baggage; it’s finding ‘the one’ who is worth being with and how serious their baggage can impact your relationship. Find out what After Hourz have to say about parental issues and relationships! We want to hear from you! Listen! Call in! Share!

Life Coach, Personal Development Specialist, Author and Radio Talk-Show Host Nazim Rashid is the guest speaker today continuing his series on Improving, Repairing and Preparing for Relationships based on his book Reconnected-How To Be A Mentor To Your Child-Self. In the media reports, reality shows and among friends, you hear a great deal about weddings; the feelings; the glow, the friends, the gowns, suits, the wedding venue, the biggest diamond ring, the fun, the excitement, etc. You don’t hear anything about what it takes to have a committed, long lasting, healthy, happy marriage. You don’t hear about the joy attained from a spiritually connected relationship. You don’t hear about how commitment carries over the challenging hurdles and how loving the spirit inside connects you to each other, no matter how the exterior changes over time. You don’t hear about these things because it is not in the fun and exciting category. There are tools provided in the book Reconnected that speak to the areas of longevity, happiness, health and real bonding that is needed for a long term relationship to exist. Nazim will continue with Identifying and Managing Emotions in order to have the happiest, stable marriages. www.cloudsofabundance.com
