My guest for today's show is Serena Dyer Pisoni.
In 2001, Dr. Wayne Dyer wrote a book called 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace, based on the most important principles he wanted his children to live by. Serena Dyer, one of those children, has contemplated these ideas throughout her life. “Don’t die with your music still in you” has been the most important principle for Serena: to her, it means that you don’t allow yourself to live any life other than the one you were born to live.
In her inspiring book, "Don't Die with Your Music Still in You" written with her Dad, Serena shares what it was like to grow up with spiritual parents.
She touches upon all ten of her dad’s original secrets, imparting her own experiences with them and detailing how they have affected the way she approaches various situations in life.
She shares stories, struggles, and triumphs—and Wayne, in turn, contributes his own perspective. This unique father-daughter collaboration will warm the hearts of all parents . . . and inspire anyone who is looking to find the “music” inside them.
During the show I'll play a beautiful song called "This Gift" and we'll talk about it. The song is on her sister Skye's album and is based on a letter Serena wrote to her Dad. We'll also be talking about the "music" Serena hears calling her now which includes sharing stories from her inspiring book "Don't Die with Your Music Still in You" and we'll talk about her joyful and fun wedding on Maui.

Michelle “Mickey Hall hails from Cape Cod Massachusetts but was born in Queens, NY. Adopted to a family from the West Indies, and the only child, Mickey grew up always surrounded by questions of not only “who she was” but also “why she was different?” While adapting to the quietness of Cape Cod from the streets of New York, she struggled every day to understand the feelings that were surfacing when she looked at other women.
It wasn't until she entered college, which she found herself surround by other women who felt the same, that she broke out of her shyness and grew into the strong, proud Lesbian she is today. Surviving unimaginable abuse at the hands of family members and even the label of the “Black Sheep” of the family to not having contact with family for over 30 years, Mickey has come full circle and has been having a wonderful time reconnecting with family members.

Life Coach, Personal Development Specialist, Author and Radio Talk-Show Host Nazim Rashid is the guest speaker today continuing his series on Improving, Repairing and Preparing for Relationships based on his book Reconnected-How To Be A Mentor To Your Child-Self. In the media reports, reality shows and among friends, you hear a great deal about weddings; the feelings; the glow, the friends, the gowns, suits, the wedding venue, the biggest diamond ring, the fun, the excitement, etc. You don’t hear anything about what it takes to have a committed, long lasting, healthy, happy marriage. You don’t hear about the joy attained from a spiritually connected relationship. You don’t hear about how commitment carries over the challenging hurdles and how loving the spirit inside connects you to each other, no matter how the exterior changes over time. You don’t hear about these things because it is not in the fun and exciting category. There are tools provided in the book Reconnected that speak to the areas of longevity, health and real bonding that is needed for a long term relationship to exist. Gratititude is one of the main themes today. www.cloudsofabundance.com

The Taylor Report as aired 18 Aug. 2014, from Toronto, Canada community radio: "We are joined by Norman Otis Richmond, veteran of the struggle against racism on this continent. ... Richmond reminds us that Missouri had a long history of legal segregation. Richmond makes clear that Black leaders have to avoid the role of “buffer” for the White power structure of state and federal governments, and that it is time to resume the struggle for affirmative action to correct injustice that began with slavery.
