Have you ever met a person that thought s/he wanted to join the military due to the influence of a couple of war movies? They fantasize about becoming heroes in the midst of a battle’s heat and coming home to cheers and accolades. Well, that may happen; but prior to hitting the battle field, a person that desires entrance into the military must go through what is sometimes called Basic Training or in other instances Boot Camp. The same could be said about Dr. Williams’ grueling 6-8 Month Long pre-marital regimen that any couple that desires HIM to preside over their wedding must go through! In todays ‘cast, we will go through the process Dr. Williams REQUIRES prior to him consenting to preside over a couple’s wedding! Each month is based on a chapter from his book, Some Thoughts for the Journey to Cana: Christian Matrimony—Choice or Chance? As a result of his steadfast rules, he rarely gets asked to officiate at weddings. Nonetheless, on the other hand, those that survive his course are less than likely to divorce or to have troubled marriages!
Listen carefully as this great Man of God delves into the richness of the marital union via the Word of God for Every Day Life: St8 and Uncut!

Life Coach, Personal Development Specialist, Author and Radio Talk-Show Host Nazim Rashid is the guest speaker today continuing his series on Improving, Repairing and Preparing for Relationships based on his book Reconnected-How To Be A Mentor To Your Child-Self. In the media reports, reality shows and among friends, you hear a great deal about weddings; the feelings; the glow, the friends, the gowns, suits, the wedding venue, the biggest diamond ring, the fun, the excitement, etc. You don’t hear anything about what it takes to have a committed, long lasting, healthy, happy marriage. You don’t hear about the joy attained from a spiritually connected relationship. You don’t hear about how commitment carries over the challenging hurdles and how loving the spirit inside connects you to each other, no matter how the exterior changes over time. You don’t hear about these things because it is not in the fun and exciting category. There are tools provided in the book Reconnected that speak to the areas of longevity, health and real bonding that is needed for a long term relationship to exist. Today Nazim will talk about addictions as it relates to healthy marriages. www.cloudsofabundance.com

Sadly, many people tumble into a marriage without the slightest idea what they are getting into! What passes for pre-marital preparation is some intense sex, and/or slip shod counseling which, in reality, is nothing more than planning for the wedding. As a practical response to this, Dr. Williams wrote his runaway best seller, Some Thoughts for the Journey to Cana: Christian Matrimony—Choice or Chance? Developed, and written, in the mid-1990s, this text has become a standard for pre-marital counseling across the United States. Using the philosophy That A Wedding Takes 20 Minutes But A Marriage Is Meant To Last A Life Time—he takes you, our listeners, through the grueling 6-8 MONTH LONG PRE-MARITAL BOOT CAMP couples MUST commit to in order to pre-qualify them for him to preside over their wedding! His philosophy, he put it is, If we cannot get into a public building or board an air craft without being thoroughly checked out, how can we unite in marriage with a stranger, and expect it to succeed? So as to be more responsible, Dr.Williams was led to devise a gruleing 6-8 month PRE-MARITAL BOOT CAMP! As a result he routinely turns down requests to marry couples that refuse to submit to his highly intense, yet effective form of Bible-Based counseling! Listen carefully as this great Man of God delves into the richness of the marital union via the Word of God for Every Day Life: St8 and Uncut!

A C-section is a birthing intervention that has saved countless lives, both mothers and babies. However, C-section rates have gotten so high in the U.S. that many groups are calling for a reduction. The World Health Organization estimates that that the C-section rate should not be higher than 10-15% for optimal health outcomes, though the U.S. has a national C-section rate of over 30%, with some birthing hospitals at 40-50%.
The death rate is more than three times higher in mothers who undergo C-sections than in those who deliver vaginally, according to the new report, issued by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. The risks to women increase sharply with each additional C-section, says study co-author Aaron Caughey, a professor at Oregon Health and Science University. (Source: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/02/19/reducing-cesarean-sections/5608139/).
Often, once a woman has received one C-section, she continues to birth this way for subsequent births, though many times a vaginal birth after C-section, or VBAC, is an option. Tune in to hear Christy Cortez share why you may want to consider a VBAC for the health of your baby as well as your own.
Two years ago I began to gain weight. My sister's wedding was approaching. I was dealing with a lot of work stress. My symptoms inflammation were flaring. I reached 150 lbs, 20 lbs over my comfortable adult weight.
This was the first time in my life that I had to consider moving into a serious weight-loss mindset.
I was in denial about how much effort it would take to lose weight and I was very reluctant to put too much effort into it. I had always been skinny by default and I wanted to believe I would lose the weight when things calmed down and the stress let up.
There are FOUR areas to focus on when you want to lose weight. I'll review each during today's episode.
