Freedom For All - The Empowerment Zone - Les Paul Morgan
It emphasizes the empowerment of individuals with disabilities to take control of their lives to the maximum extent possible. The person isn’t a patient, but a consumer that controls the services that are consumed. When I created the empowerment zone, and disability round table shows I had some of the things I was talking about such as an International Network which is a much larger venue to share the independent living movements mission statements to people all around the world so that true inclusion for all would no longer just be a dream but instead a reality!!!
That’s the hope and reason I wanted to create this series of shows to expand everyone’s knowledge including my own for the greater good of society, much as great leaders Martin Luther King, Ed Roberts, Justin Dart, Judy Heumann, and oh so many more unsung heroes of the independent living movement have done!
Tonight I sit here two days from the edge of eternity, which means on December 18 I will have survived 30 years of severe brain trauma and yet as I sit here I want you to all prepared to join with me in a celebration of life, confidence, empowerment, strength, struggle, mobilization, and getting prepared for 2015 – 2014 is whining to a close, yet there is still a chance for great change. Now!!!
The purpose of the empowerment zone is to strengthen you to learn more about your disability rights and heritage to go boldly where no man or woman has ever gone before with a disability to brightly you the future and be part of the change so come with me here on The Empowerment Zone with Les Paul Morgan

Bouncing Back after Brain Injury - Dream Catchers - Les Paul Morgan
It’s far easier to fall flat on your face than to bounce back after Brain Injury or at the least that’s what they all say. But is that true or false? The reason I asked the question like that is far too often we the people living with Brain Often Tend to fall into That False Narrative That the Statement Must Be True.
Because this is brain injury awareness month and because so many people have felt as if they have fallen through the cracks of society. I want you to help me set the record straight because people traumatic brain injuries and similar injuries are some of the most amazing productive and talented individuals on the earth!!!

Together, I hope we can bridge the gap to inclusion for everyone with all types of disabilities and that you will be willing to call in and share your stories and ideas on The Empowerment Zone with Les Paul!
I work for a Center for Independent Living which are community-based, cross-disability, non-profit organizations that is designed and operated by people with disabilities. CILs are unique in that they operate according to a strict philosophy of consumer control, wherein people with all types of disabilities directly govern and staff the organization. Centers for Independent Living Provide:
Information and Referral
Individual and Systems Advocacy
Independent Living Skills Training
The Empowerment Zone is a place for all people with any type of disability to come and learn and find common ground and solutions to help empower people with disabilities to find their inner strengths.
This is a positive show based on the IL philosophy which is independent living for all people wishing to better their lives by learning to take charge of their destiny and living their dreams through the independent living movement. Two years ago I came up with the concept for the Empowerment Zone after also hosting on the brain injury radio network show Dream Catchers for over three years now as well.
Not only is the independent living movement very cool, but it’s a way of thinking differently with a disability with bold ideas and a brave new future using the core services of Iindependent Living. If you would like to call in and talk dial 424-243-9540 and press one if you’d like to speak because that shows me your hand is up!

Les Paul Morgan.
I sit in a Unique Place in History! I’m a Multiple Traumatic Brain Injury, Brain Aneurysm, and Coma Survivor Who at the Same Time Worked Myself up from the Very Bottom into Becoming a Peer Supporter Advocate Activist for People with Disabilities and a Brain Injury Radio Network Host.
At Walton options for independent living where I work, we are people with disabilities fighting for your rights. Every day, and there are over 400 centers and many of them are going to be at a National Disability Rights event called APRIL next week which is the United Voice of Rural Independent Living in Rural America doing the same thing all across the USA. They are busting a move to make a better place to live for all of us!
The big problem! Too many fighting and arguing over which disability gets this and what agency gets that forgetting the people with any type of disability. No matter what and breaking hearts and breaking dreams. So why not forget if it’s a brain injury are whatever and bust a move working together with me to change this now! It’s almost like it’s become a survivors club and at each club fights for the funds and keeps them from the others, and so people with disabilities are actually fighting each other. That’s wrong!
Working at a Center for Independent Living It Is Much like I’m at an Outpost for What Is Going on in the Disability Movement and for That I Feel Very Honored because I see things that most people don’t know that are going on in the community and in the country and in the world to help people with disabilities.

I have a dream...Celebrating Our Jubilee!
Our forefathers and mothers planted trees from which we gather fruit, and dug wells from which we quench our thirst. Civil Rights Activist marched for us, died for us and pleaded for our equality.
So what are we leaving behind for our communities today? What are we fostering in the minds of our Black children? How will we strengthen our families and our communities? How will we show the power of LOVE in the world? How are we Leading Change?
Fifty years ago, Dr. King's "I Have a Dream..." Speech debuted in Detroit and transformed a nation. Today, we Celebrate our Jubilee and join in that movement, teaching us all to evolve in our beliefs, values and purpose for the elevation of our consciousness for unity of all.
Today, we are summarizing the 2015 PowerNetworking Conference hosted by Dr. George C.Fraser, author of Success Runs in Our Race. This event is to empower African-American Professionals to Learn, Earn and Return to their communities, empowering Blacks economically, psychologically, culturally and physically.
Being predominantly African American, the City of Detroit is an iconic city to help inspire economic empowerment, political empowerment, and social empowerment by unifying our messages of self-worth so we confidently work together and create viable communities creating opportunities for our black children. Our children must begin to see from us in their daily lives the vision that Dr. King left us with so they remain filled with hope, and pursue to excel accordingly.
It's time to re-evaluate ourselves, our community, and cease losing our power, by strategically applying economic and marketing principles so we are stronger as a Community economically.
We are powerful, and together we rise!
