Leonard Todd is the author of CAROLINA CLAY, the story of the slave potter known as Dave. Newsweek calls it “a fascinating account.” Publishers Weekly describes it as “a sweeping tale of the South itself.” It was a finalist for The National Award for Arts Writing, and it won the South Carolina Center for the Book Award for Writing. It is published by W. W. Norton.
Born in South Carolina, Leonard was educated at Yale University. He is a former Fulbright Scholar to France. He lived for many years in New York City, where he began his writing career with travel articles, short stories, and novels for young adults. Two of his novels, set in areas of the South that he knew well as a boy, were optioned for film productions.
Author Leonard Todd will be talking with us about the great ceramic artisan known as “Dave,” who lived in South Carolina during the 19th century. He was a potter, a poet, and a slave.
For many years, very few details were known about this enigmatic man. Leonard, however, discovered a startling personal link to him and set out to uncover his story. The prize-winning book, CAROLINA CLAY, is the result.
Leonard now lives with his wife, a poet, in Edgefield, South Carolina, where he recently wrote the book, lyrics, and music for his first theatrical musical, SUNNY DAY, which had its premiere at the Edgefield County Theatre Company.
Leonard has told Dave’s story to audiences at the Smithsonian, at Oxford, on National Public Radio, and today he will be telling it to us.

If you have questions about money and wealth, financial security and independence, this is one show you won't want to miss.
We are fortunate to have in the studio Bill Leonard, who is Ken's personal go-to money wizard. Bill is a sharp guy and he specializes in helping people optimize and maximze their whole financial picture. Bill has access to the best companies and state of the art products that he uses to help his clients grow their retirement funds faster, protect against losses, take advantage of compounding interest (with high rates of return) and enjoy "living benefits."
Until recently, much of this information was available only to the ultra-wealthy. Bill is also a down to earth guy and happy to work with clients at every level.
Ken and Bill will also talk about the ravages of poor returns, losses, taxes, and inflation; and how they will set you back and ruin your financial plans (if you don't understand how they work against you). This will be informative and provocative because Bill is not afraid to shatter the myths and tell it like it is. What most people think they know about financial planning is wrong and designed to work against them. Arm yourself with the facts and the truth.
This is your opportunity to call in and ask your questions directly to Bill. Some people might think that talking about money and wealth is boring, but we're going to make it fun--especially when it puts more wealth and spending power in your pocket.
If you have questions for Bill, and would like to schedule your Personal Financial Health Check-up, Bill can be contacted via email: firstname.lastname@example.org

Len was held captive in the United Kingdom by the Official Solicitor to the High Court for almost eighteen months and medicated to the extent that he was incapable of legal discussion and understanding. During which time most of his assets were disposed of, by Solicitors and Barristers, whilst generating revenue for themselves, all without Len’s knowledge and consent.
Finally, without the knowledge of the Official Solicitor, the British Airline Pilots Association directed Len to Professor Gordon Turnbull, FRCP FRCPsych (Psychiatric adviser to the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority) who reviewed the evidence, stopped all medication and Len was referred to Neurologists for brain damage assessment. Thereafter Len received specialist toxicology treatment for poisoning by Organophosphates with additional support from the Royal British Legion, SAFFA and the Royal Naval Benevolent Trust.

Carter Godwin Woodson (Dec. 19, 1875 – April 3, 1950) was an African-American historian, author, journalist and the founder of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. Woodson was one of the first scholars to study African-American history. A founder of The Journal of Negro History in 1915, Woodson has been cited as the father of black history. In Feb. 1926 he announced the celebration of "Negro History Week", considered the precursor of Black History Month.
Carter G. Woodson was born in Buckingham County, Virginia, the son of former slaves, James and Eliza Riddle Woodson. His father helped Union soldiers during the Civil War and moved his family to West Virginia when he heard that Huntington was building a high school for blacks.
Coming from a large, poor family, Carter could not regularly attend school. Through self-instruction, he mastered the fundamentals of common school subjects by age 17. Wanting more education, Carter went to Fayette County to earn a living as a miner in the coal fields. He was able to devote only a few months each year to his schooling.
In 1895, at the age of 20, Woodson entered Douglass High School, where he received his diploma in less than two years. From 1897 to 1900, Woodson taught at Winona in Fayette County. In 1900 he was selected as the principal of Douglass High School. He earned his Bachelor of Literature degree from Berea College in Kentucky in 1903 by taking classes part-time between 1901 and 1903.

Viki Winterton interviews Lindsey Leonard!
Lindsey Leonard is the Executive Director at the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation.
Lindsey joined TBCF in March 2012 with a decade of non-profit experience in program administration, fundraising, grant writing, donor cultivation, and facility management.
Before joining TBCF, she worked at Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, a local nonprofit environmental organization, serving as a development director. Before joining the Foundation, she was the vice president of operations at Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clara Valley in Ventura County, and she served as a branch director and a state licensed childcare center director at United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County.
Lindsey has devoted much of her professional career to making a positive impact in families' lives through education, mentorship and constructive social interactions. She has built her career on the philosophy that "the sky is the limit," and that every family can be great given an opportunity and the support they need.
She believes openness to creating a positive work environment and collaborative participation is paramount to build a healthy organization, particularly in small communities such as Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura.
Without the divine order of God you can not fulfill all that God requires of you. Ministry that is outside of the divine order of God is ministry that is outside of the will of God for mankind. The apostles assignment was to establish the divine order of God. These teachings by Terance & Victoria Blount will help to lay the foundation for authentic Kingdom ministry and life.
