Monday, February 23rd, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson allowed a new law to block future anti-discrimination laws (to go into effect 90 days after the legislative session ends later this summer). While the premise of the new law known as SB 202 appears reasonable, in actuality this law allows legal discrimination for all non-protected classes.
In this episode, we hear from three Arkansas residents. Meet once again Scott Wyant, Founder of Straight Talk Arkansas, a website dedicated to Living liberally in the Mid-South.
We'll also hear from Cathey Shoshone and Christina Harrison. Cathey is the Co-Chair and Christina is the Founder of Arkansans For Equality.
Christina Harrison was born and raised in Arkansas. She founded Arkansans for Equality in 2011. As an ally, she had become frustrated with the bigotry she came across towards our fellow Arkansans in the LGBTQ community and wanted to do something to help. She began a ballot initiative to repeal Amendment 83 soon after. Christina is a combat veteran in the Army National Guard, and has just recently returned from a tour in Afghanistan.
Cathey Shoshone, also an ally, was born in Arkansas but has lived in several states around the South. She lives in Arkansas currently, She "liked" the Arkansan for Equality facebook page and volunteered to collect signatures for the ballot initiative. The ballot initiative became obsolete when Cheryl Maples and Jack Wagoner won their case in Judge Piazza's courtroom legalizing same-sex marriage. A federal case has also overthrown Amendment 83 to the Arkansas State Constitution. This decision has been stayed pending an appeal hearing.
Welcome again to TheStonerChicks Radio and this is Cannabis Corner with your host Derty Rockstar.
Today I will go over the lighting that I have used and will probably not use again, becuase after 6 months my electricity bill was through the ROOF. What I mean by this is the grow light system that I was using was sucking up all the power in my house. So if I would turn on the microwave my gtow room lights would then shut off. Rememeber there are limits of how much poiwer you can plug in to your house.
This episode I will focus more on what I am using now vs what I used before. LED vs HPS/MH grow lights. I have both a 300w LED grow light and 2 digital 400w Sun System Grow lights. I also have a digital 400w umbrella type grow lights from Appollo. I also made a DIY CFL grow light with reflectors that I converted by removing the ballast and wiring from the hood and reflector. I will be posting all the photos and link from this weeks show sometime today :-).
So tune in every weekday from Monday thru Friday at 3:00pm PST (Los Angeles) and listen to Derty from TheStonerChicks.com

Last week’s amazing show inspired me to share more about the Wise Woman tradition. We’ll talk about its meaning, foundation and core principles and how its essence is found in everything we do. The understanding of this ancient tradition will explain the idea of “the wise woman within” and the importance of tapping into her wisdom, so you may always reflect your “healthy/whole/holy” self.
I look forward to deviling deeply into what Susan Weed calls, “The oldest tradition of healing known on our planet" and helping all of us, man/woman/and all, uncover our “wise woman”.
As with each episode, calls will be taken in the latter part of the program. Questions and comments related to the topic of the show are always welcome. I would love to hear from you!
seeing you soon~

Today's guest is former police officer from South Carolina, Raeford Davis. Mr. Davis contacted me to ask if I would have him on to talk about LEAP(Law Enforcement Against Prohbition)
His bio(edited for length) from the LEAP site.
"I was misguided for participating in the war on drugs and my actions as a cop made things worse."
Raeford Davis served the City of North Charleston police department for six years, including four years as a patrol officer and two as a special victims unit detective. At the time, North Charleston was ranked the 8th most dangerous city in America. Before becoming a police officer, he served in the United States Coast Guard Reserves. He graduated from Charleston Southern University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice.
His perspective changed after patrolling a drug-plagued neighborhood nicknamed “4-Way.” He explains, “Children as young as 10 were recruited by older gang members to openly sell drugs, rob customers, and intimidate local residents. The kids were specifically recruited to sell drugs because they received less punishment if caught. As soon as I locked up one of these dealers, another younger one would take his place.” He realized that as long as gangs could make immense profits selling drugs, they would continue recruiting kids.
Raeford believes that we should legally regulate drugs to stop the violence and victimization of communities.Today, Raeford lives in Charleston. He retired in 2007, after being injured in the line of duty.
Doing my best to help the Lord set the brushfires of freedom in the hearts of men and to restore America, God willing, to the beacon of freedom she was meant to be.
