    in News

With possession of less than two ounces carrying a prison term of up to six months and a fine up to $2,000 Texas is one of the most repressive and scary states for marijuana consumers. From marching on the State Capitol in Austin to activist training/public education to submitting bills reforming the state’s draconian laws, Texas NORML is changing the picture. Texas NORML Veteran’s Affairs director Dave Bass will review the dismal legal situation in Texas, reveal where progress is being made and explain the programs Texas NORML has developed to drag their state into the 21st Century.

Missouri ain’t much better than Texas with possession of less than an ounce imposing fines and prison sentences up to $1,000 and a year in jail with convictions for sales of less than five grams imposing a prison sentence of up to a 7 years. Mark Pederson with the Cannabis Patient Network is working with a group of Missourians to bring before the voters the Missouri Cannabis Restoration and Protection Act which defines marijuana as food!!! • "I Take LIBERTY With My Coffee" "Art Killing Apathy" Founder Stands Up

    in Politics

As discussed in a feature article in SOMA depending who you speak with, she may be the front woman in a heavy rock band, a writer for several magazines and blogs or organizer of political rallies. Yet, one thing Eleanor Goldfield is not is apathetic. Having witnessed the social juxtapositions of growing up in both Sweden & North Carolina and inspired by her socially conscious parents to stand up for what you believe, Goldfield has an insatiable drive to use her voice to challenge political corruption and social inequalities. In 2010, with friend and fellow musician Brian Marshak, Goldfield formed the band Rooftop Revolutionaries as a way to express social and political messages against the sound of hard, driving rock music. "Art has the unique ability to connect with people on the deepest of levels without feeling like an intrusion. People open themselves up to this art, music, photography, and then – they think. React. Do Something." Please join us tonight. Long time Activist, Coffee Party Newsroom Editor and Radio Host, Bobby Rodrigo's new show on "I Take LIBERTY With My Coffee" on Coffee Party USA Radio every Tuesday at 8:30PM.   Advocating engagement and coalitions Bobby points out that the Constitution is the Rule of Law in our land and why it should remain so. Money in Politics, the Political Party Machine and partisan blind allegiance is on full display as he advocates against the erosion of our Constitutional Protections in the name of corruption and tyranny. "If we focused on following the Constitution we would solve many of the ills of our society.”  Offering a long list of guests from Political Organizations, Activism, Media and Artists Bobby invites you to join him every Tuesday at 8:30PM on Coffee Party USA Radio.

Legalization in Maine & World Class Emerald Cup

    in News

Maine is considered a key state to pass a marijuana legalization initiative and two groups are seeking to put an initiative on the November 2016 ballot. One is the Washington DC based Marijuana Policy Project which has funded successful legalization initiatives in Colorado and Oregon. The other is Legalize Maine, a local group which has a different approach to legalization and is working to put their initiative on the ballot. Why Maine is such a hot bed for marijuana legalization and how the two initiatives differ will be discussed by our first guest Campaign Coordinator for Legalize Maine Peter McCarrier.

Billed as the “Definitive Cup for the Fall Harvest” Sonoma County’s 11th Annual Emerald Cup is one of the best and certainly most authentic of the multitude of U.S. cannabis cup competitions. With awards for a variety of categories for buds, concentrates, edibles, topicals and photos, the Emerald Cup is complete with a music fest with multiple bands headlined by the fusion band Slightly Stoopid. Tim Blake, founder and chief organizer of the Emerald Cup is the show’s 2nd guest recalling how the Emerald Cup came to be and the cannabis extravaganza the Dec. 13 and 14th event is going to be.

Lose Weight with MJ & Sin City MJ Attraction

    in News

Three years ago, Las Vegas police and the Chamber of Commerce prevailed upon Mandalay Bay Hotel/Casino to cancel Cannapalooza, an extravagant large exposition that had rented their exhibition hall and about a thousand hotel rooms. Now that marijuana will be sold in dispensaries to locals and visitors alike everything has changed. Hal Lewis, founder and director of the recently opened Las Vegas Cannabis Information Center reviews how this remarkable about-face came into being and how the center is becoming Las Vegas’s hottest new attraction.

Marijuana munchies is the mantra, but far from sending users on a food binge, many report that marijuana can actually help in weight management and weight loss. Our second guest is Karen Pike who went from nearly 500 pounds to 250 pounds and marijuana played a significant role in her weight loss. Karen will relate how marijuana helped her lose weight when nothing else worked and reveal the program she followed to make it happen.
