36th Anniversary of Blacks in the LDS Priesthood

    in Religion

36 years ago today on June 8, 1978, The Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints restored the Priesthood to Black Latter-day Saints. At the beginning of LDS Chruch history Elijah Abel and other black Mormons held the LDS priesthood. After Joseph Smith died a policy was instuted restricting anyone of African decent from using the priesthood if they had already been ordained or being ordained if they had not. In 1978 then President of the LDS Church, Spencer W. Kimball announced that all worthy men would hold the priesthood. In December 2013 the LDS Church further dispelled common myths and rationalizations for the policy against blacks in the Chruch. Tune in as the Sistas commemorate this long awaited day with a special focus on the impact the priesthood ban had on Black Mormon women.

    in Blogs

What a fascinating journey! This time we have been given for discovery and seeking for the meaning of life and cutting through the mists of illusion that confront us on every turn. Choices guided by the inner voice of reason and deity, if we allow ourselves to hear and believe.

Guest No Show: Did the Ante-Nicene Fathers teach the LDS Man Becomes God view?

    in Religion

Saturday 10/11/14 12pm ET/11am CTRL/10am MTN/9am Pac Call in and listen, share comments and ask questions at 1-347-934-0379

We were supposed to have former LDS and Jehovah's Witness Stephanie Sunderland and had to re-schedule her. But her absence allowed us to cover an issue that i recently encountered online with an LDS Elder and once proposed by a former Jehovah's Witness Richard Rawe. Namely, that the Ante-Nicene Fathers aka the Apostolic Fathers advocated the Mormon Doctrine of man progressively becoming God or as they say "As Man is God once was and as God is Man shall become." In my online note on facebook (you can read it here:https://www.facebook.com/notes/agustin-astacio/proof-6-screens-of-the-wt-unitarian-richard-rawe-scholastic-dishonesty-on-christ/10150184934495678) I addressed this issue and spoke on the uniqueness of Christ as well on this program. We had 2 callers call in one was Wendy Tucker from the Hen's Pen which is now a program featured in our Healing Shows on every Sunday between 4pm ET to 6pm. Check them out every Sunday with a crew of former Jehovah's Witnesses. Check out our upcoming programs and archived ones at www.blogtalkradio.com/healingxoutreach

The LDS Church Disavows the Teachings of their Prophet Brigham Young

    in Christianity

The Mormon Church has just said that what their Prophet Brigham Young taught was wrong. LDS.org States:

"The Church Today... Today, the Church disavows the theories advanced in the past that black skin is a sign of divine disfavor or curse, or that it reflects actions in a premortal life; that mixed-race marriages are a sin; or that blacks or people of any other race or ethnicity are inferior in any way to anyone else. Church leaders today unequivocally condemn all racism, past and present, in any form. Footnote Gordon B. Hinckley, “The Need for Greater Kindness,” Ensign or Liahona, May 2006, 58–61

JEREMIAH 23:16: "Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD."  See also Jeremiah 23:25-32 and Hebrews 1:1-3

If Brigham Young was wrong about the blacks, I believe he and the other Mormon prophets were also wrong about the teaching that you can become a God.  Throughtout the Bible teaches that He alone is the Creator God and there is no one like Him. See Isaiah 43:10, Isaiah 45:18 and Book of Mormon Alma 11:28-29 and Moroni 8:18.

Clay in the Potters Hands and the Pre Mortal Life of Spirits

    in Religion

We are all Clay in the Potters Hands, He created us in the spirit before he created the earth. We come onto the earth at certain times pre determined by our Father and have Free agency to Choose Eternal Life or Eternal Damnation and are Judged according to the light we have. The Grace of God makes up the difference. The Heathen Nations who are good, and live to the light they have will be given a higher resurrection than the Christians who know about Jesus and all that he has sone but will not turn to him and recieve revelation to know that their interpretation of Scripture is Correct. God wants all his children to become prophets and seek his word through revelations...
