Final Balance - Is There An Afterlife? Author Stephen Black

    in Politics Conservative

Southern Sense is a show of conservative talk on news and events, with Annie "The Radio Chick" Ubelis as host and Curtis "CS" Bennett, co-host.  Informative, fun, irreverent and politically incorrect, you never know where we'll go, but you'll love the journey!  Visit our website at http://www.Southern-Sense.com, become a member and follow us here and on Facebook.

Stephen Black, author:  While Final Balance can easily be read as a standalone work, it's actually follow-on from his first book, THE ZOO: An Allegorical Adventure.  In the first book, a major metropolitan city was utterly destroyed and reduced to an uninhabited state of rubble, abandoned and desolate for all eternity.  Final Balance goes well beyond the original work with an entirely different setting and experience for the reader.  In the new book, Dan Alexander, the central character from THE ZOO, travels on a supernatural journey through the Afterworld exploring the ultimate consequences of his earthly existence.

Final Balance: On the edge of existence, Dan Alexander awaits a frightening and uncertain future. What lies on the other side and what will it be like?

Dedication: Army Cpl. Charles E. Ivey was reported missing in action on Nov. 29, 1950 in Korea.

EP206 Historical Fiction Author Liza Perrat Joins Kori on the Back Porch

    in Writing

Liza grew up in Wollongong, Australia, where she worked as a general nurse and midwife for fifteen years. When she met her French husband on a Bangkok bus, she moved to France, where she has been living with her husband and three children for twenty years. She works part-time as a French-English medical translator, and as a novelist. Her articles on French culture and tradition have been published in international magazines.  Spirit of Lost Angels is the first in her French historical trilogy, The Bone Angel Series. She is a founding member of the author collective, Triskele Books and reviews books for BookMuse.

    About the book:

1348. A bone-sculpted angel and the woman who wears it––heretic, Devil’s servant, saint.
Midwife Héloïse has always known that her bastard status threatens her standing in the French village of Lucie-sur-Vionne. Yet her midwifery and healing skills have gained the people’s respect, and she has won the heart of the handsome Raoul Stonemason. The future looks hopeful. Until the Black Death sweeps into France.

Terrified that Héloïse will bring the pestilence into their cottage, Raoul forbids her to treat its victims. Amidst the grief and hysteria, the villagers searching for a scapegoat, Héloïse must choose: preserve her marriage, or honour the oath she swore on her dead mother’s soul? And even as she places her faith in the protective powers of her angel talisman, she must prove she’s no Devil’s servant, her talisman no evil charm.

Héloïse, with all her tragedies and triumphs, celebrates the birth of modern medicine, midwifery and thinking in late medieval times.

Talk to literary agent, Jeanie L oiacono, and author, James Washburn

    in Spirituality

A facilitator of dreams, Jeanie Loiacono represents over sixty authors. Her forte is mystery, romance, thrillers, historical/military/southern fiction, and all quality fiction/nonfiction. Her passion is to see her authors succeed.”I am a facilitator of dreams.”

“There is nothing more rewarding than to hold one of my author’s books and know I helped bring it to fruition. I am so blessed and privileged to be able to work with some of the most talented writers in the world.

James Washburn was born and raised in rural Wisconsin, initiating an intimate rapport with the natural environment and life in the North Country. Drawing from his connections to native North American Indian and Inuit people, as well as a deep personal spiritual history in traditional Christianity, he weaves a story that transcends ethnicity and culture. He speaks to the universal desires of the human heart with simplicity and passion.

“Life is too important to spend it making a living” – has been Washburn’s mantra since youth. Choosing a three-decade career in education gave him time for extensive travel and experience within many of the most remote corners of North America. His appreciation for solitude and a self-reliant nature, however, belie his enthusiasm to promote an understanding of humanity’s interdependence and the unity of all people. Washburn’s education includes degrees in geography, health, and learning resources along with extensive scholarly study in historical theology and psychology. He is also an able photographer and experienced speaker. His current communion with Mother Earth has been a complete hike of the approximate 1,200 mile long Ice Age trail.
