Interview with Braiden Turner of Blackwell

    in Music

BLACKWELL returns to radio with their latest single called Welcome To The Country which has already became a huge favorite when the band performs live!

BLACKWELL is a vocal trio led by singer/songwriter Braiden Turner along with singer/songwriter/guitarist Carey Blackwell and brother Dan Blackwell. All three are from musical families. Although Braiden is from Ottawa, much of her life has been spent in the small towns of southern Ontario where her family is from. Carey and Dan are from Northern Ontario where they began their musical lives

“Small town Ontario gives us the perspective of everyday people just like us” says Braiden, “We know how they think, because that’s how we think…and we can relate to them and they can relate to us! We’re all really very proud of our roots".

What else that all three have in common is their love of vocal harmony, original songs, the richness of their roots and their desire to showcase their brand of originality. Carey is also adamant that Braiden be featured out front and that he and Dan play supporting roles.“That’s where we feel comfortable” says Carey, “Braiden is the perfect vocalist and personality to lead BLACKWELL to where we want to go. She’s creative, determined and has so much energy it’s scary!”

Please join us for Motivational Mondays- The Power Hour hosted by Evangelist LaShaun O'Bryant and Sisters with Purpose Kingdom of Heaven Ministries with special guest Andrea Renfroe, Authoress of The Prophetic Pen

    Chatroom: www.blogtalkradio.com/sisters4life

Andrea M. Renfroe is a scribal prophet by the unmerited favor of God. He has given her the ability to skillfully paint word pictures with her pen (a weapon of warfare) to express His heart, encourage the oppressed, bring liberty to the bound; and present paradigm shifts where old patterns have caused stagnation. As a child, Andrea was quiet and withdrawn. Although her tongue was bound, her pen was not. She used it as a safe and productive means to process her thoughts and to clearly communicate what was happening to her and to others. Over the years, God strategically engineered and used trials and tribulations to develop Andrea's character and to solidify her testimony. His purpose was to develop her into a tried mouthpiece fit for His use. When God loosed her tongue, Andrea committed to heralding His heart not just by way of writing, but also with her voice through intercession, teaching, preaching, and prophetic declaration.

The Gettin It In Show: The Legacy of Nat Turner

    in Radio

Nat Turner's rebellion was one of the bloodiest and most effective in American history. It ignited a culture of fear in Virginia that eventually spread to the rest of the South, and is said to have expedited the coming of the Civil War. In the immediate aftermath of the rebellion, however, many Southern states, including North Carolina, tightened restrictions on African Americans. Over the course of two days, dozens of whites were killed as Turner's band of insurrectionists, which eventually numbered over fifty, moved systematically from plantation to plantation in Southampton County. Most of the rebels were executed along with countless other African Americans who were suspected, often without cause, of participating in the conspiracy. Nat Turner, though, eluded capture for over two months. He hid in the Dismal Swamp area and was discovered accidentally by a hunter on October 30. He surrendered peacefully.
