A Miraculous Journey to Healing: Brenda Michaels and Marsha Mercant

    in Spirituality

How can even the most challenging journey with cancer be viewed as a gift instead of an enemy? Inspirational radio host, speaker and author Brenda Michaels waged a battle with breast cancer for 14 years, starting at the age of twenty-six.  Brenda writes of her experiences in the new book The Gift of Cancer: A Miraculous Journey to Healing, co-authored with multi-award-winning actor/singer and voiceover artist Marsha Mercant.

Brenda's story goes far beyond healing from a devastating disease.  It is a story of creating a joyous and highly fulfilling life, no matter what life circumstances invite us to grow in new ways.  Brenda explores her harrowing personal experiences with traditional treatment and how she was led to choose alternatives instead.  She is now healthy and thriving in ways traditional doctors would not have thought possible.

Brenda Michaels is currently the cohost of Conscious Talk Radio: Radio That Makes a Difference with her husband, Rob Spears.  Recently appearing with Marsha on The Today Show, Brenda is a national speaker and workshop leader, providing one-on-one coaching to cancer patients.

An internationally recognized actor/singer/voiceover artist, Marsha Mercant is the voice of Time Warner Cable, Aetna, HSBC, Hertz, Sirius/XM, and more.  She is co-editor of the Amazon #1 bestseller Fearless Women: Visions of a New World and recently completed a new play, When You Get There.

Margaret De Wys: Healing in the Amazon Jungle

    in Spirituality

Shattered by a diagnosis of a serious health condition, composer and Bard College music professor Margaret De Wys emerged from crippling fear to take an entirely new path in the Amazon jungle, a path that ultimately led to her dramatic healing.  In her new book Black Smoke, Margaret explores her transformational journey, as she is propelled away from her family (to everyone's concern) and has an amazing encounter with Carlos, a charismatic healer in the Amazon.

Margaret's earlier book is Ecstatic Healing. She is a composer and sound installation artist whose musical works have premiered with dance groups and orchestras across the country.  Since her initial healing experience, she has traveled extensively and worked closely with many healers throughout the world.

"Removing The Smokescreens From The Baltimore Riots-Pt. 2: The Token Gestures"

    in Lifestyle

Continuing our discussion on the smokescreens of the Baltimore riots...we addressed the cover-up smokscreens in Part One. The tactics used to distract the public away from the real problem by dangling other entertainment factors or shock value occurrences on the front page. Tonight, we examine the other side of the smokescreen fence--the token gestures made by the politicians, leaders, and legal system. The National Guard is moving out, the city of Batimore is prosecuting the cops for murder, and positive news stories of businesses rebuilding after being looted or bombed are splashed across our screens. Are these true attempts at genuine concern? Or are these simply pacifiers to make the protests come to an end? Join in tonight at 10:30 pm EST by calling 347-327-9967 with your thoughts.
