On June 28th, 2014 Larisa Dannis ran the race of her life, placing 2nd overall female in The (grueling) Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run. She was declared the Dark Horse, the unexpected threat to win.
6 years ago she was overweight, out of shape, and feeling very much lost. Today, she says she’s a gal with hopes of qualifying to run in the 2016 Olympic Marathon Trials. Larisa set a personal best at The Boston Marathon this year finishing in 2:44:41, 33rd woman overall and first woman with a non-elite race bib!
BESSARABIAN NIGHTS :
A country she couldn’t wait to escape. A culture that wouldn’t let her.
Eager to forget her Moldovan roots, Larisa settles into a new life in London, where she’s soon to graduate as a Media student. But her vow to leave Eastern Europe forever is shattered one spring morning when her blood sister, Ksenia, disappears while on holiday in Italy.
Frantic, Larisa launches a desperate bid to find her friend. The search leads her across Europe and eventually back to her homeland, where she finds a country struggling to assert its post-Communist identity and riven by poverty, corruption and human trafficking.
After almost two years of searching for Ksenia, Larisa thinks she has finally been able to save her friend. Or has she?
Perhaps sometimes the devil you know is more dangerous than the one you don’t.

Their upcoming self-produced release “Rock On Sat Nam!” mixes empowered rap, rock, pop, Sanskrit and slamming beats. “Sat Nam” translated means “Truth is My Identity” and audiences always join in to sing this rock anthem with Larisa. Taking to heart Gandhi’s philosophy “Be the Change You Wish to See in the World,” Larisa Stow & Shakti Tribe also give special concerts in prisons, jails, juvenile detention facilities and recovery centers where they share tools of transformation including yoga, mantra, and meditation to affect positive change, inspire personal responsibility and create Peace.
