All wars are bankers wars. To convince Americans to sacrifice their chidren on the altar of greed, there must always be an enemy, an existential threat to "American interests," which are defined as the interests of the international corporations that dictate US foreign policy.
Since the fall of the Soviet system, that enemy has increasingly been the bogey man of Islamic extremism. After 9/11, that has been defined in the minds of many Americans as being of the Muslim faith. The US government has been diligent in keeping that fear alive, with among other things FBI entrapment schemes that allow them to claim they are foiling terrorist plots when they are actually creating them. In some cases, charges are entirely fabricated.
Whatever your views on the Muslim religion, you have to realize that the targeting of this or any group is just the first step in dividing the People so that they do not united to fight the real enemy, corporate power over the US governments.
Laila Yaghi returns to Taking Back America today at 3 PM to talk about her own experience with Islamophobia and the nightmare it has caused her family after her sone fell victim to an FBI effort to prove it is doing its job in the "War on Terror" that masks a very real war on democracy.
This show was rebroadcast on Saturday, December 7 at 9 AM PST/ 12 PM EST on the Star Com Radio network.

Since 9/11, Americans have seen their civil liberties infringed in ways previously unimaginable. Fear is used as a weapon against citizens who have learned to view every Muslim as a potential terrorist. The corporate media has further inflamed the hysteria by claiming that the US government has been infiltrated by individuals who want to impose Sharia law on all of us.What Americans in the grip of fear and unreasoning anger do not appreciate is that the trick of demonizing minority groups to divide citizens and divert them from the true danger in their midst is as old as war itself. They do not seem to realize that when the government comes for them, there will be no one left to speak for them.On December 12 our guest on Taking Back America was Laila Yaghi, who told us the story of her personal agony and that of her son, who was imprisoned for waht amounts to guilt by association. When you hear the details you will wonder to what extent you can trust the US government to ensure your civil rights.Until we can learn to see each other as fellow Americans and citizens of the world community, there is no hope for democracy in America or the world. We are all in this together and only together can we assure our children a world where liberty and justice for all is not just a nice idea.To find out more about Ziyad's case go to Laila's website here. This show was broadcast on Saturday, February 2 on the Star Com Radio network.Take Back America for the People is an educational nonprofit whose mission is to reveal to the American public the true costs of corporate control of the US government.
