Director Kyle Patrick Alvarez releases his sophomore film, C.O.G. which he wrote based on a story by David Sedaris. Kyle tells host Robin Milling getting the rights to the story from Sedaris was a challenge as he regularly passes on the idea of making his stories into films.
Determined, Kyle showed up at a Sedaris book signing with his first film, Easier With Practice, in hand. His passion plea was his personal connection to C.O.G.which deals with the intersection of religion and sexuality. Growing up in the Mormon community dealt with that in spades! Four months later Sedaris e-mailed and Alvarez became the first person to adapt his writings for the screen.
Kyle is clear that C.O.G. is not a coming out story but more about coming to terms with being seen as a gay person; nor did he want to cast an openly gay actor as a gimmick. Jonathan Groff was just the right person for the job. He says, 'I think Jonathan has the quality of being an openly gay actor for most of his career, arguably his entire career and I think he truly has the opportunity and the possibility to break out and for people to not question him as a romantic lead opposite women. He has the looks and the talent and the charm to handle all of those things you need from a leading man.'
We talk UFC, MMA, Boxing, Pro Wrestling, and all combat sports topics underneath the sun.
Our special guest is popular BJJ Black Belt, Undefeated MMA Fighter and all around classy guy Ruben Alvarez

This week on the conversation Trump takes Indiana and causes Cruz to get out of the race. My thoughts on the elections going forward now that Trump has the nomination all but sewed up. The focus now should be moved to going after Hillary Clinton. If Hillary is smart which Ithink she is not lord help us if Sanders join her as a VP. Many liberals don't like Hillary, will taking Sanders help her get the other half of the liberal voters who might not other wise vote for her. My thoughts on what I think this could mean for liberals and the election moving forward. Making too much money that now companies won't hire people who can't find work in the trained field. Sad when people who want to earn a living can't find work cause they used to make 30 dollars an hour and are going down to 7-10 dollars an hour. A USA where people can't get work who want it scary, just cause they used to make more then they would now. Lesticer City clinches the EPL title 132 year history and celebrating there first ever title. It's like the cubs winning the WS no one is not excited for them. Man United still looking at getting into a forth place finish to get back into the UEFA. LVG says that he signed a 3 year contract with United and plans an up holding his end of the deal.
It's now apparent that #Khanelo is upon us. Whether you wanted to see Saul "Canelo" Alvarez against Amir Khan or not, it's here.
In honor of Khan moving up a division or two in taking on Canelo, this week on the history edition of Top Men Boxing Radio we talk about fights in which one of the competitors moved up a division or more to face a larger champion. Quite a few fighters played weight games: "Sugar" Ray Robinson, Stanley Ketchel, Henry Armstrong and many more.
Compubox operator/historian Aris Pina and Patrick Connor of The Fight City (and more) are the two you want recounting these historical fights.

Chicago's Cubs had the Washington Nationals shut out through 8 2/3 before Jayson Werth hit a two-run blast to left off Travis Wood, but it wasn't enough as the Nats dropped the series opener in Wrigley Field by a score of 5-2. Joe Ross was solid again for the Nationals, but a rough inning in the fourth led to the only two runs he allowed while on the mound. Cubs' starter Kyle Hendricks tossed six scoreless to earn the win. Three more to go in Chicago...
