A Tiny Branch on a Mighty River

    in Psychology

Bob Zima, MA/LCPC, is a self described Frequent Flyer to Hell and Back. He has experienced many trips to the Gates of Hell and lived to tell the tale. Plus he has learned a thing or two along the way.

In this short podcast, Bob shares with you his quirky and wacky insights and lessons learned from his adventurous and E-True Hollywood-esque trips to Hell and back. Perhaps you may be inspired by this irreverent, blazon and passionate cathartic satirist who tells it like it is. Perhaps not. You will have to listen to find out.

This show is for mature audiences with open minds and souls. Healing is NOT for wimps or the weak-hearted. It is work. Hard work!

On today’s show, Bob discusses the notion of being a tiny branch on a mighty river. In other words, in life, you got to let things happen and go with the flow unless you want to be anxious, depressed and crazed all day long.

    in Military

(Tune in to The Next Mission Radio with your host Daniel Mays)

Join us as we go on air with Mr. Curtis Jones (Mr.VA/Gunny) as we dive into some of the issues that surround VA disabilities and ratings. We will be discussing issues and simple things that veterans miss when going to sign for their ratings. Also we will be discussing some other programs that are available for veterans such as the VFW, DAV, American Legion just to name a few.

Curtis Jones is a retired Marine Gunny who joined into the Marine Corps in 1977 during his time in service until his end of service in  1998. Once out of the military he held multiple jobs ranging from work as a security consultant all the way up to working for the FBI and everything else in between. Along with some of the jobs that the Gunny has held he has also volunteered his time and efforts to give back to the Veteran Community by taking part in VFW Post 304, DAV CHAPTER 3, AMERICAN LEGION POST 141, FRA BRANCH 24, and AMVETS.

"I work for the DOD, but my life's mission is to help any and all Vet's that I can. I believe in God and Country in that order and I am willing to die for both! I have always stood up for the underdog and will continue to do so! I am a combat Vet and a wounded warrior even tho you can't see my wounds. I have been in two helicopter crashes. Ran over a landmine in Bosnia, shot in the chest but by the Grace of God my vest took the round, almost taken out by an IED also in Bosnia."-Curtis Jones (Gunny)

So please join us on the air to talk with myself and Mr. Curtis to discuss VA ratings and any questions about the process and local VFW, DAV, and American legions.

Richard Goffman, Author of "Laid So Low" & "Heartless Cruelty"

    in Radio

Teachers can be heroes. They spend time with kids every day and get to see them under different circumstances, often seeing and hearing what parents never do. Meet fictional high school English teacher, William Bachman, who teaches at Atlantis High School. He is the central character in the series of Jersey Shore thrillers which include Heartless Cruelty and Laid So Low. The main character becomes a reluctant sleuth, and there are plenty of disturbing mysteries to be solved as the books delve into the dark side of the Jersey Shore with issues including sex trafficking, political corruption, and child abuse. Richard Goffman has written a series of fast paced books with engaging characters and the hero is the English teacher. It might come as no surprise that Goffman spent the 1970s teaching English in Long Branch, NJ at the high school and junior high, and these days he’s a professor of writing at Montclair State University. The author based the fictional town Atlantis on Long Branch, NJ and says, “That town had beauty and ugliness, it had familiarity and magical strangeness, and it had enough racial, ethnic and economic diversity to yield no end of characters.” The books are must reads for Jersey Shore fans! Richard Goffman has written textbooks, stories, poetry, plays, screenplays and numerous articles. After the interview, check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more info.

Okeh (pronounced 'okay') was founded by Otto K. E. Heinemann (1877–1965), a German-American manager for the U.S. branch of German-owned Odeon Records

1919, the  year the name of the label's owning company was changed to the "General Phonograph Corporation" and the name on the label was changed to "OKeh".

Heineman also wished to experiment with music for audiences neglected by the larger record companies. Okeh produced lines of recordings in German, Czech, Polish, Swedish, and Yiddish for the USA's immigrant communities. Some were pressed from masters leased from European labels, others were recorded by Okeh in New York
