Kokoaleaves grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and always knew rapping would be part of his future. Like most young talent, he started rapping at age 5 and he never stopped. Street kid to rap artist was a natural transition, writing his first rap at 12, had his first live performance at 15 and joining his first group at 16.
Now at 35, “Street Religion” is what he calls his current music style. Life has its lessons it wants to teach and after being locked up for six and a half years on three felony charges, now it’s his time to let it all out. Everything he speaks on from guns, drugs religion, incarceration, he lived all of it.
After incarceration, rejection from family and friends he almost gave up music. But he recorded a verse with a relative, putting all his pain and rejection behind it and the city called out to him, called him to come back to his passion.
Rakim has always been one of his major influences, because he is a Muslim and a thinker.Islam plays a huge role in Kokoa’s life giving him strength and drive to continue the path he began at a young age.
He has opened up for major performing artist’s all over, including R. Kelly, Salt Pepa, Twista, Tech-9, SWV, Too Short.
There is a war going on outside no one is safe from. Since the Twin Towers in New York collapsed police have killed more people then soldiers have been killed by terrorist attacks and warfare combined. America has more people locked in their prison systems then any other country. What is going on? While people fight battles overseas who is the real war being waged on? Are there are solutions for America's encroaching police state? There is a WAR ON THE STREETS: PEOPLE VS POLICE.
Hip Hop artist Kokoa Leaves talks about his music, his struggle and what keeps him motivated.

Heliosaga- “Towers In The Distance” is the anticipated album rooted deep in European tradition, combining the best elements of power, symphonic, and gothic metal. Drawing comparisons from such bands as Xandria, Delain, and Leaves Eyes.
The name Heliosaga is a metaphor derived from helios, the Greek word for sun, and saga meaning the story/ history; thus, Heliosaga represents the journey of life.
“Towers In The Distance” lyrics are deeply personal, and the primary themes revolve around the state of the world, mortality and the personal struggles that all encounter. Mixed by Michael Hansen (Phonomik, Chainfist) at Phon Studio and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Epica, Volbeat) at Hansen Studios. Bass guitar tracks were recorded by Chad Novell (Fibonacci Sequence) and a guest guitar solo was performed by Gilbert Pot (Elegy).
Heliosaga was founded in 2010 by Damien Villarreal (keys/guitar) in San Antonio, Texas, soon after joined by Jordan Ames (drums). By September of 2010, the line-up was complete and the first practices were held. The ensuing year would see a five song demo, the first shows and various line-up changes. In 2012, Chelsea Knaack joined as lead vocalist and the band recorded the single “The Light of Ardor”, which was released in January 2013. Shortly before the recorded single was release, the band relocated to Minnesota and continued the writing process.

"When The Drum Major Died" by Anjulle Floyd
Martin Luther King, Jr. has begun laying out plans for his Poor People’s Campaign. Florina Austin, newly married, spies a woman sitting on the steps leading up to the verandah where Florina and her husband will live. The woman’s uncanny knowledge of the space that Florina will inhabit leaves her suspicious.
The following Sunday after church, Florina witnesses the woman, she has come to know as Agnes, caress Redmond’s cheek. The look in Redmond’s eyes betrays longing. Florina and Agnes are neighbors. Their husbands, Negro doctors in Poinsettia, NC, hold prominent positions in the social and political life of their community. When Agnes flees to Memphis and joins the Sanitation Workers Protests, all are aghast, none more than Florina. As they move towards the fateful day Dr. Martin Luther King is killed, Florina learns that marriage exposes the vulnerabilities of all who pledge their trough and body. It casts an even greater shadow upon the ones who vow love unto death, and do not deliver what they have promised. When the Drum Major Died shows what happens when we resist change in favor of worn out tradition, but also what can and does occur when we open our hearts and embrace the words, “ … be first in love … be first in generosity … He who is greatest among you shall be your servant. …”

The Los Angeles Taste of Soul and YOU!
This Week's Theme: FIND
Find a G-D to know, find your true self, find the real friend and family to call your own. Find in your G-D the truth that is yours. Be careful, you might find your truth isn't what you thought it was and may be more than you thought it could be.
Find a place in your heart, room for the sous who seek to be found. You may be the haven they need to find themselves.
Find the silver lining in the tarnished and tatooed tapestry of life. It may be worn and frayed, but it's your cloak of honor to be worn with pride and the knowledge that each tear is a mark of your triumph over the inevitabilities of life.
Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
Leaves are changing, Halloween is just around the corner, and that means one thing: college basketball season!
Wait, no it doesn't. But we're talking to Brian Barbour about UNC hoops and Steve Pierce about BYU's basketball chances this year all the same, because we refuse to be constrained by your "calendar." Jane also rates random things by how Michigany they are. It's science!

• Why somatic holding prevents us from experiencing pleasure
• Ways in which the body can re-learn pathways to pleasure
• A process for sexual awakening and healing
