The LGBT Community Center of The Desert (The Center): A Glimpse Inside

    in LGBT

As we learn at TheCenterPS.org, "The story of The Center (also known as The LGBT Community Center of The Desert) is one of success. This vibrant organization is undergoing a dramatic expansion to better serve our seniors, to embrace the diversity of our Valley, to build camaraderie, to provide wellness and social services – and to enrich the lives of the LGBT community. The magnitude of commitment to The Center’s mission in this community is striking. Through the contributions of our members, volunteers, donors, business partners, board and staff, we are addressing urgent needs of hunger, depression, isolation and building a community center that brings people together for health, for wellness, for socializing, for FUN and for a broad array of shared interests."

On May 21st, 2015, at the beautiful home of Palm Springs City Council Candidate Geoff Kors and his husband, Palm Springs Unified School Board Member James Williamson, The Center's Executive Director Mike Thomspon addressed existing and future members of The Center's Ocotillo Club (major donors) about how far the organization has come, and where it's headed.  They say, "Be a part of this success story as it unfolds. Join us...You are welcome here."

    in Motivation

Rev. Laura M. George, J.D., is a Virginia-based author, attorney, teacher, and spiritual seeker. In 2004, she founded The Oracle Institute, an educational charity, which serves as an “Advocate for Peace and a Vanguard for Conscious Evolution.” Oracle operates an award-winning publishing house, a multi-faith spirituality school, and a peacebuilding practice. Oracle’s icon is the Pentacle, which represents the emerging Fifth Spiritual Paradigm and the potential for unity among the five major religions (Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam). Oracle’s formal mission statement is Thomas Jefferson’s Act for Religious Freedom.

Oracle studies “religiosity” in America and throughout the world, and Laura often writes about the “Trickle-Down Deity Theory,” which posits that mankind’s view of the Godhead necessarily defines all cultural experience. Recently, Oracle launched a full-spectrum micro-community called the “Valley of Light,” which is based on Barbara Marx Hubbard’s “Wheel of Co-Creation” and the most successful community on the planet – The Federation of Damanhur. Currently, Laura is overseeing construction of the “Peace Pentagon,” Oracle’s new headquarters and the heart of the Valley of Light community. Laura also is the author of Oracle’s award-winning foundational trilogy: The Truth: About the Five Primary Religions (2006); The Love: Of the Fifth Spiritual Paradigm (2010); and The Light: And the New Human (due 2016).

The Helios Biblios Hour (the book of the sun) did AmeriKKK learn from KKKMT

    in Current Events

While Europe was experiencing its Dark Ages, a period of intellectual, cultural and economic regression from the sixth to the 13th centuries, Africans were experiencing an almost continent-wide renaissance after the decline of the Nile Valley civilizations of Egypt and Nubia.

The leading civilizations of this African rebirth were the Axum Empire, the Kingdom of Ghana, the Mali Empire, the Songhai Empire, the Ethiopian Empire, the Mossi Kingdoms and the Benin Empire.

The Aksum or Axum Empire was an important military power and trading nation in the area that is now Eritrea and northern Ethiopia, existing from approximately 100 to 940 A.D.

At its height, it was one of only four major international superpowers of its day along with Persia, Rome and China. Axum controlled northern Ethiopia, Eritrea, northern Sudan, southern Egypt, Djibouti, Western Yemen, and southern Saudi Arabia, totaling 1.25 million square kilometers, almost half the size of India. Axum traded and projected its influence as far as China and India, where coins minted in Axum were discovered in 1990.When European merchant ships began to visit West Africa from the 15th century onwards, Benin came to control the trade between the inland peoples and the Europeans on the coast. When the British tried to expand their own trade in the 19th century, the Benin warriors killed their envoys.
