    in Self Help

Happiness, as the old adage goes, is an inside job.  Happiness is not a destination, but a journey—and when you start your contentment trek, you may find that the ingredients for happiness have been there all the while (waiting for you!), and you discover the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living, already!

Join Coach Cafe this Friday as we interview Louise Baxter Harmon, author of Happiness A to Z: The Gleeful Guide to Finding and Following Your Bliss. With an entire alphabet of happiness, each of the 26 chapters is filled with ideas and inspiration for attaining a life filled with joy.  Louise will share ideas you can apply to your own life to increase your happiness.  Her book includes perspectives on happiness from classic writers such as Albert Camus, Emily Dickinson, and Kahlil Gibran, as well as contemporary figures such as Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey. Click here to get your copy.

Louise Baxter Harmon originally hails from rural Kentucky. From childhood, she made it her habit to save (and savor) quotes and life lessons to share with others. THE FLASH TALK Podcast Episode 9 - S1 Ep 7 POWER OUTAGE

    in Television

Dr. Wells returns to his secret room, where it is revealed that he has been documenting Barry's growing abilities, and using his computer to look at events in the future. Barry arrives at a crime scene where the victim was murdered via electrocution, and charred beyond all recognition, suggesting a metahuman was involved. While investigating the victims identity, the team identifies a power drain in the city. When Barry arrives, he is attacked by Farooq Gibran, a man who has the ability to siphon electrical energy. The attack drains Barry of his speed, and when Wells checks his secret computer it reveals that there are no references to Barry or "The Flash" in the future, and thus the timeline is in danger of temporal paradox. Wells believes that Barry's body just needs an electrical jumpstart, and Farooq arrives at the lab while the team is attempting to help Barry.

"As in the case of the mass execution of the Chinese males, Japanese soldiers invented raping games and contest. Brothers were forced to rape their sisters and sons were forced to rape their mothers. Fathers were forced to rape their daughters. Anyone refusing to participate would be executed on the spot. Young female virgins were especially prized by the Japanese. As in the case of the eating of penises, many Japanese soldiers actually cut out the vaginas of young girls and fashioned keepsakes made out of the victims pubic hair." /

Inez Robb said...'Now it's time for the roast beef to be on the table!"  In essence she is saying once the cake has been cut, the bouquet has been tossed, ze honeymoon is over-REALITY SETS IN!

What are the secrets to an everlasting marriage?  Could it simply be learning how to empathize, that listening and sharing a burder works wonders.  Could it be learning to stay respectful of each other.

In studies focused on the positive habits of happily married couples, this is what they found.  REMEMBER your a team, you're in this together.  TRY A LITTLE TENDERNESS, use a warm tone of voice.  SOFTEN conflict with humor...LAUGH.  SUPPORT but don't SMOTHER. Kahil Gibran said 'let there be spaces in your oneness.'  CELEBRATE each OTHER.

THE PROPHET by: Khalil Gibran (1923)

    in Lifestyle

The Prophet  (1923)   Kahlil Gibran  - read by: Ngon'e Aw

The Prophet provides timeless spiritual wisdom on a range of subjects, including giving, eating and drinking, clothes, buying and selling, crime and punishment, laws, teaching, time, pleasure, religion, death, beauty and friendship. Corresponding to each chapter are evocative drawings by Gibran himself.

    Love and marriage

Foolish is the person, the prophet says, who 'would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure', for to wish this leads to less of a person, who has seen less pain but also less pure joy. The prophet says: "When love beckons to you, follow him/Though his ways are hard and steep".

We cannot wish for love to reach only a certain measure, or to presume that we can direct the way its course, "for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course." As much as love allows for our growth, it also acts to prune us so that we grow straight and tall.

When questioned about marriage, the prophet departs from the conventional wisdom that it involves two people becoming one. A true marriage gives both people space to develop their individuality, in the same way that "the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow".

In search of a lost love and understanding of the romantic fairy-tale

    in Self Help

Nancie Zeller is an artist, designer, business women, educator, and consummate mother, but what has brought her to Meaningful Connections is her mother's book and legacy to the World: Love, Sex, and Beyond Time.

Nancy's mom, Mary Zeller, was a registered nurse that opted out of her career, and the love of writing, to be the consummate wife and mother. She wrote “Love, Sex, and Beyond Time” after the passing of her husband in search of the lost love and understanding of the romantic fairy-tale she lived. The book is a compilation of Mary’s personal thoughts, saying and quotes combined with some of the greatest minds throughout history broaching the topics of love, life, sex, and the hereafter.

Some quotes or points of interest in the book:
Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself. Kahil Gibran

You can only find true happiness through love, yet, without love you are only a vessel. Mary Zeller

And so it seems that we have met before and laughed before and loved before but who knows where or when. Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart
