Writer/critic Bennet Pomerantz discusses subjects with authors and artists on The Betty Award winning ANYTHING GOES Tonight's guest is KB MILLER
Author, K.B. Miller is a proud native of Baltimore, Maryland. Currently, she resides in a tiny valley, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Pennsylvania along with her husband and son (both Steelers fans - eww!), her energetic puppy - Cullen Edward, and her mouthy blue front Amazon Parrot, Poppy.
K.B. is a huge football nut! That's right fellas, she's a DIE-HARD Ravens fan living in Pennsylvania! How's that for ballsy?
She's been writing for as long as she can remember, but two years ago her loving husband- who believed in her talent, finally gave her a gentle push... actually, according to her, it was really more like a kick... in the lower back-upper thigh region. She claims it hurt. After a few restless nights she decided to allow everyone to meet all of the crazy characters in her head, and here we are.
K.B. has, as her family calls it, a ridiculous addiction to hats, shoes, sunglasses, owls, and coffee. No problems there, right? That's what she said.
Welcome to K.B.-land, it's a lot like Disneyland only without all the endless lines, unnaturally happy people, and it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg to enter!
Bursting upon the indie horror scene at the age of eighteen with his first feature My Pure Joy, James Cullen Bressack has been called "horror's new hope" (StudioCity Patch - Mike Szymanski) and "a talent to watch out for." (H.S.T.- Ben John Smith) as well as garnering rave reviews on almost every horror web site. Released by Media Blasters on their Fresh Meat Shriek Show label in 2012, the film quickly rose to the top of the best sellers list on Amazon.com in the horror category. His second feature, a real shocker, Hate Crime, was a festival favorite and garnered many awards.
Bressack then made history with his next feature, To Jennifer, which was the first feature film shot entirely on an Iphone 5. The prolific filmmaker then made Pernicious, filmed in Thailand and due to be released later this year. His film, 13-13-13 followed and his most recent feature, Blood Lake, which aired on Animal Planet, was a top ratings getter. A winner of multiple Best Picture and Best director awards on the film festival circuit, James has become one of the few indie filmmakers Verified on twitter, where he has 70,000 + loyal fans.

Norman Woods, once chose to be recognized and performed as N-Side, the blessed one. He felt that the name represented his appreciation for being able to express his internal struggles and various stages of his triumphs. Later on, he chose to be called N-Side and The Tribe, acknowledging appreciation of his band, He refers to his style as “Soul dialog”. Covering a variety of subjects, soul dialog is what takes place when you are engaged in meaningful conversation. These are the types of conversations, where each individual can feel as though they can contribute and participate.
N-Side's poetic work is done in a traditional style, which reflects his love of poetry from the "Harlem Renaissance" era. Most of his poetry is influenced by the writing of Langston Hughes, James Weldon Johnson, Arna Bontemps, Countee Cullen and so on. His contemporary jazz influences include, but are not limited to, Red Garland, Donald Byrd, Gil Scott-Heron, Sekou Sundiata and his favorite poet, Kamau Da'aood.
Join Zaiyah and Uptown for a conversation and listening party with the brilliant and talented Mr. Norman N-side Woods.
