Kevan Glover grew up in Buffalo, New York as the eldest of four
children. He proved early on to be a leader and motivator amongst
his family, his peers, and on the basketball court. On a road trip with
friends to Charlotte, he fell in love with the city for its growth
potential and blossoming social scene, and moved there
With so much involvement in the Carolina’s entertainment scene, it
only made sense to tap into the online social scene, as well. Kevan
developed TalkofNC.com TalkofSC.com, regionally-specific social
media sites that act as networking tools, social forums, classifieds,
business directories, and current news outlets. From there sprang
Talk of NC and SC models, a place online for aspiring models in
the area to gain exposure.
Mayor Anthony Foxx
Proclaimed every 2nd Saturday in December as Queen City Awards Day.
From there, Kevan self funded the Konnected Tour, a 12 city tour
with 12 di?erent artists, which now has its own publication,The
Konnected Magazine, where Kevan is the editor-in-chief.
In addition to focusing on the growth of his various enterprises,
Kevan is now turning his attention to charity events (of which Talk of
NC has hosted many) for the homeless and children in need. Kevan’s
investment in his family (he is a husband and father of two young
girls) and his community, combined with his ability to raise funding,
mobilize the community, and organize successful events makes him
unstoppable in his mission to bring positive change in the Carolinas.
His vision has grown into 13 states now which he host charity events,
parties and more.

On the December 3, 2014 edition of "Nature Of Reality Radio" I welcome Linda Moulton Howe who is a longtime TV producer, investigative reporter for radio and internet and author who goes directly to the men and women at the forefront of science and environmental breakthroughs and to firsthand eyewitnesses of high strangeness. She received a Masters Degree from Stanford University in 1968 making documentary films about science, medicine and environmental issues and has devoted her documentary film, television and radio career to productions concerning those subjects. As an investigative TV producer and investigative reporter in 1979, she tried to get to the bottom of the strange bloodless, trackless animal mutilations in Colorado and the surrounding region. It was law enforcement who told her, usually off the record, that the perpetrators were "creatures from outer space."
Linda has written four books: An Alien Harvest which investigates the worldwide animal mutilation phenomenon and Glimpses of Other Realities, Volumes I and II which concern U.S. military, intelligence and civilian testimonies about other forces that interact with earth life. Her book Mysterious Lights and Crop Circles is an investigative report about scientific research of unusual formations in cereal crops and grasses around the world and videotapes, photographs and eyewitness descriptions of mysterious small lights associated with the enigmatic crop formations. She has also been honored by several Regional Emmies, Peabody Award, a national Emmy nomination for science documentaries and some 25 other TV, documentary and news production awards. She continues to write, produce and speak at national and international conferences and symposiums.

NPR's Michele Norris, former regular host of "All Things Considered," just won a Peabody Award from the University of Georgia for her self-funded work, "The Race Card Project." It invites people to submit 6-word phrases or sentences, describing their experiences and impressions of race in America.
About The Race Card Project, by Michele Norris
The Race Card Wall
Make Your Race Card
The Race Card Project encourages people to condense their observations and experiences about race into one sentence with just Six Words. Since it began in 2010, the Project has received tens of thousands of Six Word stories from all over the world. The Race Card Project has earned a deep well of trust on a thorny topic as evidenced by the candor and depth of the submissions. The Six Word essays featured on the website, theracecardproject.com, provide a window into America’s private conversations about race and cultural identity. As such, the website has been used by schools, businesses, churches and even the military to foster a dialogue about race. The Six Word stories are also featured regularly in reports by Michele Norris on NPR’s Morning Edition.

Yes, you are correct - you have seldom seen the word "Favorite" in the title of the show :) The most versatile Renaissance Man that we're featuring is the reason. Besides being so staggeringly talented, Slim is also a friend. And it's ALWAYS a pleasure to welcome him back!
Baltimore born and bred, Slim (aka Tim Camponeschi) became smitten with music at the age of five. That's when Dad took him to see "The Five Pennies" with Danny Kaye and Louis Armstrong. So strong was the inspiration that Slim took trumpet lessons for ten years. And he taught himself both guitar and piano. Singing all the while. Oh, thank God for THAT! If you know our Hunk's voice, then you have heard Audible Silk. Dean Martin without the dry martini :-D
Seriously, this profile could wax poetic from now until showtime - that's how cool of a background we're discussing. From the first gig, singing Beatles' songs at the six grade graduation - to his middle school band, Momma Max - to his education at the Peabody Institute - to the Motown office of Roxanne Gordy in New York City where he signed his published deal (and a song on Angie Bofill's debut CD!). There's more: Stiff Records (yes) signed him and "Boot Camp" had two of the 100 videos first seen on MTV. A re-recording of songs originally done by another artist put Slim Man on the map - so did Bona Fide, the group he founded in the late 90's. "X-Ray Hip" was a number one song that still get played all over the globe. And Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn will never forget Our Guy - Slim was the one who discovered him via the nationwide Marlboro search.
TV, screenplays, authentic Italian cooking - whaddya want?! A new Kickstarter will launch his cookbook (days left!) and a BIG charitable event happens SOON - please welcome our Friend, Slim Man!
The happy healthcare host, Mr. Divabetic shines the spotlight on the people behind one of the most innovative diabetes educational programs, Divabetic - Makeover Your Diabetes with inspiration from Barbra Streisand during National Diabetes Awareness Month.
From the moment she burst on the Hollywood scene in "Funny Girl", winking as she uttered the immortal “Hello, gorgeous” to her mirror image, until the release of her newest album, "Partners", there was and has been no one quite like Barbra Streisand.
She is a diva, a superstar, a sensation. Since the 1960s, she has won more varied awards (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, special Tony, Golden Globe, CableACE, Peabody) than anyone else in show business, and has sold over sixty-eight million records, more records than any other female singer. She is timeless, enduring, phenomenal. She has triumphed as herself in a town that thrives on make-believe, and she has done it all without mirrors.
Divabetic is claiming 'diva' status and taking a look back at it's most succesful outreach program, Divabetic - Makeover Your Diabetes. This free program was presented in 9 major cities (New York, Philadelphia, Dallas, Miami, Cleveland, Washington, DC, New Orleans, Atlanta and Los Angeles from 2006 to 2009. The program promoted a ‘diva’s bold & sassy attitude’ as way to safeguard women and their families against complications related to diabetes.
With an unique mix of free beauty and fashion services, music and interactive diabetes education in a fun, comfortable setting, the program broaden the appeal of diabetes educational outreach for women and their loved ones.
Barbra Streisand's latest No. 1 album, “Partners” made history. She’s the first artist to have a No. 1 album in each of the past six decades. We will be playing songs from “Partners” courtesy of SONY MUSIC.
