Episode 118: Wildcats Softball is currently (10-0) on the season with two key wins over Texas and another over 2013 NCAA National Champion Oklahoma. Head Coach Rachel Lawson breaks down the start of the season and more. Lawson has taken the Wildcats to the NCAA Super Regionals two times in the last three years. In 2013, Kentucky earned the No. 12 national seed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament - the school's first-ever national seed - and hosted a NCAA Regional for the first time ever. Lawson is the winningest head coach in school history and already has more wins in SEC play than UK had all told as a program when she took over in 2007. Last season, Kentucky had a rocky regular season after being the preseason favorites to win the championship in March. Despite the rocky regular season, the Wildcats pushed themselves all the way to the championship game where they lost to UCONN as a No. 8 seed. This season, the Wildcats return quite a few key players and will be a huge team in general once again. Last year, the team relied heavily on its size and controling the glass in general. I'll go over what Big Blue fans can expect in this upcoming 2014-15 season.
As we inch closer by the day to the most electrifying and energetic 3 weeks in all of sports, the #1 team in the country Kentucky Wildcats continue their quest to exceed excellence and chase perfection, standing in their way is only 3 more games of the regular season prior to entering SEC conference tournament play. A chance to make history and put their very own stamp on the college basketball landscape is merely the main objective and most common goal in Lexington that has seen so many great teams come and go, but to hang banners and only banners, has UK's sights set on a much bigger picture... The 2015 NCAA national championship. The road to a perfect 40-0 undefeated season continues...
